The Spiritual Trap of Idolatry
In this solo episode, I dive into a topic I’ve been wrestling with recently - how we so often chase spiritual fulfilment in the wrong places. It’s something I’ve noticed in myself repeatedly, whether through my obsession with curating the perfect music playlist, my need to experience everything in travel, or the way I’ve thrown myself wholeheartedly into work and other pursuits. Each time, it felt like I was looking for something deeper, something meaningful, but in places where it could never really be found.
I reflect on the idea of idolatry—turning material things or experiences into false gods—and how this theme shows up in the teachings of Christianity and other philosophies, like Buddhism’s emphasis on non-attachment. Why are we so drawn to seeking spiritual satisfaction in things that ultimately leave us unfulfilled? Is this a flaw in human nature or a challenge by God for us to reject the temptations of the material and instead be guided by something greater?
This episode is a short and sweet. It’s a reminder to myself - and maybe to you as well - that true spiritual fulfilment won’t be found in the material. Instead, it requires us to shift our focus toward the immaterial, toward the source, toward God. I hope these musings resonate with you as much as they’ve helped me work through my own questions.

Millions of pensioners in Britain have just found out that their pensions are now liable for massive inheritance taxation.
Everything they have worked for, in order to pass on to their children (who desperately need this lifeline in a world where crippling debt has become the only way to own any real assets), will now be subjected to ransacking by the state.
What’s happening in the UK is so disgusting, it makes me physically angry. The state has gone completely blood thirsty. The people are being systematically looted by a government absolutely hellbent on taking everything they can get from absolutely anyone who has so much as a dime for them to steal.
And this is to pay for a country where crime is rife, public services are nonexistent, infrastructure is falling apart, freedoms are stripped, and any hope for a positive future has disappeared for most.
The government is at war with the people. It may not be a war of violence - although if you attended on a freedom protest then you’d soon realise it is certainly that, too - but it is undoubtedly a financial war. The name of the game is simple - take as much as you can from as many as you can, without giving anything back, and ensuring ever higher levels of subservience and dependence on the state.
But there IS an answer. The answer is to say no to their panopticon by getting off the fiat standard and on the Bitcoin standard.
Fuck buying a house, buy bitcoin instead. Fuck buying a nice car, buy a second hand shitpiece and buy bitcoin with the rest. Fuck buying designer clothes, shop at charity stores if you have to. Save the rest in bitcoin. Got something to sell? Got a service to provide? Do it for Bitcoin. Got access to a loan? Take it and buy bitcoin. Use their fiat weapons against them. Drain them.
Do this for a few years and buy as much Bitcoin as possible, and the exit door from enslavement lights up like a glowing beacon.
We are in a war against the state and it’s time that people wake the fuck up and start fighting back. Once your wealth is in Bitcoin, they cannot take it. It’s that fucking simple. What are they gonna do when you’ve passed on 12 words to your loved one which is the keys to everything you’ve worked for? They can’t do SHIT!
We have the silver bullet and it’s high time that we started using it. Bitcoin is how we end this. Not waiting for the next election so you can vote in another group of criminals to figure out more creative ways to rob you. People need to grow some fucking balls and take a risk. And it’s not even a big risk any more. The risk is literally lower than the other option which is GUARANTEED getting all your shit taken from these thieves on a long enough timeframe.
Stop fucking around, Brits. This is serious. Take action now or you only have yourselves to blame. Fuck this stupid British attitude of “oh but we’ve all got to tighten our belts”, “oh we’ve all got to pitch in”, blah blah blah. FUCK THAT! You’re being stolen from by a bunch of goddamn demonic criminals who are destroying the country and everyone in it. This is the magnitude of the situation.
So turn off the TV, put the fucking newspaper down, and start making a list of all the ways you can get more Bitcoin so the state cannot take your shit. It’s that simple. Onwards.
It will. However houses are an inferior inflation hedge to Bitcoin. So I think whatever house prices do in the next 10 years, Bitcoin will do maybe 50X that, as a percentage gain. Unfortunately for the banksters, all their remaining tools for enslavement lead to hyperbitcoinization as a rational market response. Popcorn time! 🍿

I’ve not read it (yet). However from reading other stuff by Ryan Holiday (namely The Daily Stoic), I’m very familiar with Aurelius, albeit from reading his work second hand.
