Ich geb mein Bestes, ich schwör

submitted by https://feddit.org/u/Missy

$ man dd

speak englisch sprich deutsch du…

$ tldr dd

Drag and Drop Ordner ziehen klappt.

Sehen uns In 3 Monaten. Selbes Problem. Selber Frust. Nix gelernt.

China tops list of countries trying to silence exiled dissidents over past decade, study shows

submitted by https://lemm.ee/u/slartibartfast

However, a smaller number of countries account for the vast majority of all documented physical attacks on dissidents, with China the most frequent offender, responsible for 272 incidents, or 22% of recorded cases. Russia, Turkey and Egypt also rank among the worst perpetrators.

Trump says US to increase military sales to India, eventually provide F-35 jets

submitted by https://lemm.ee/u/MicroWave

Summary

Trump announced the U.S. will expand military sales to India, including plans to eventually supply F-35 fighter jets.

No timeline was given, and India’s Foreign Secretary clarified the acquisition process has not yet begun.

The deal reflects India’s shift toward U.S. defense products as Russia’s arms exports decline due to the Ukraine war. India has already purchased over $20 billion in U.S. military equipment since 2008.

The announcement also follows agreements on energy trade and cooperation against terrorism between the two nations.

Food of the Future: How Social Reformers Created a Vegetarian Crusade in America

submitted by https://reddthat.com/u/TheReturnOfPEB

Vegetarianism has been practiced in the United States since the country’s founding, yet the early years of the movement have been woefully misunderstood and understudied. Through the Civil War, the vegetarian movement focused on social and political reform, but by the late nineteenth century, the movement became a path for personal strength and success in a newly individualistic, consumption-driven economy. This development led to greater expansion and acceptance of vegetarianism in mainstream society. From Bible Christians to Grahamites, the American Vegetarian Society to the Battle Creek Sanitarium Adam D. Shprintzen explored this lively history of early American vegetarianism and social reform.___

I’m trying to make stupid play on the pronunciation of ‘OwO’ and Mehrunes Dagon, but I think it’s falling flat.

Anti-Monopoly Is the Path Forward: Democrats have scored some nice wins against corporate oligarchs—and drawn clear lines. They must not stop.

submitted by https://lemmy.sdf.org/u/Hotznplotzn

The Biden Administration’s governance model exposed a decades-old tension between two competing economic visions within the Democratic Party. One seeks to reinvigorate American manufacturing, strengthen unions, and challenge monopoly power through regulatory action. The other looks to maintain and strengthen the party’s ties to corporate America and Wall Street. The unifying glue of fear of Trump, it was thought, would hold this incoherent and less-than-sturdy alliance together in 2024. Harris’s loss should put such delusions to rest.

Democrats need to make a decision. They can either continue their decades-long accommodation of billionaires and corporate interests or embrace a genuine populist agenda that directly challenges concentrated economic power. It is not possible to govern as the champion of both working people and oligarchs. As Pennsylvania Representative Chris Deluzio put it, there isn’t a “win-win” when it comes to the interests of big corporations and working people.

AOC says Dems need to play hardball if they help Republicans keep the government open

submitted by https://lemmy.world/u/MicroWave

Summary

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar insist Democrats should demand major concessions if they help Republicans avoid a government shutdown.

With a narrow three-seat majority, Republicans need Democratic votes to pass a spending bill, but progressives argue the GOP must “sort themselves out” first.

They oppose Republican efforts to slash corporate taxes and gut federal agencies.

Concerns remain that even if Democrats secure agreements, the Trump administration might ignore them. Some moderate Democrats agree that Republicans must take responsibility for funding the government.

USA | Appeals Court Says Town Can’t Forbid Cops From Flying The ‘Thin Blue Line’ Flag

submitted by https://lemmy.zip/u/BrikoX

While we all know the “Thin Blue Line” flag is just a bastardization meant to signify cops are above the law, there’s no constitutional way we can forbid cops from displaying their deliberate antagonism against their obligations to the people they serve: things like transparency, accountability, and the service and protection so many law enforcement agencies promise in their agency slogans.
