Are we talking actual policy measures that can be pushed democratically to roll back the funding of military programs? Are we talking about people ceasing to pay their taxes? Are we talking about everyone suddenly accepting bitcoin for actual value not just an equivalent to the USD? The first one seems most realistic to me but “defund the state” is unfortunately very ambiguous to me anyway.

People are highly disappointed about the state!

Especially in the context of the #Israel #Palestine conflict, I am seeing a chance to „explain“ to more people, that „defund the state“ is one of the few (only?!) ways to actively & peacefully take away their weapons!!!! 🔥

I think it is one of the greatest tragedies to common discourse to see the types of misinformation that spread on twitter unchecked in the middle of the worst humanitarian disaster we have witnessed in our lifetimes.

Unfortunately, in the USA, with tips being done by way of credit cards, the employers are sitting too close to the money printer and are too often tempted to start stealing from their employees.

Employees who do have this happen are often not able to do anything about it, due to litigation costs, and by law you can only go back 12 months when litigating for back pay.

We need to normalize cash tips, BTC and ⚡ tips or at bare minimum, giving directly thru other apps like CashApp and Venmo....

Especially in the states where they allow employers to pay waiters $2.13/hr (Utah).

I agree. I don’t see anything wrong with directly tipping someone. The rules of tipping are so ambiguous and hardly anyone asks where the tips go. It’s a broken bandaid, not even a proper one.
