Why do we need 2 devices – smartphone and a computer?

Smartphones should've replaced computers by now. They're powerful enough to handle most tasks, and they already have support for external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

I shouldn't have to secure two devices, especially a desktop or a laptop that I can't carry around easily. Imagine a world where your smartphone is your only hardware device, and when you connect to any random external monitor with mouse and keyboard, it displays a desktop experience.

The only thing holding my dream back is software. #Android OS, while very good, it's not the same as #Windows or #Linux. Most apps aren't optimized for big screens. We need this.

As I'm learning about Bitcoin Lightning, I'm seeing some major red flags. To use it, you need an account with a service provider. It's a username/password type of custodial account. Then, the node has full control over your funds. They could shut down without warning, or transfer your funds. The only way to actually have control is to run your own node, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of Lightning? The whole point is to allow many users to transfer tiny amounts of money a lot, eg zaps. To me, it seems that Lightning nodes have all the problems of Mastodon. Imagine the problems of Mastodon, except it's your bank account. That's bad. What am I missing?

So... increasing the block size worked?? I'm trying to understand why we built a whole complicated Layer 2 Lightning Network, with a basically impossible user experience and worse centralization issues, instead of just tweaking a configuration value?

Ruby is the worst programming language in common use. I don't even want to hear complains about JavaScript. At least I can tell where code is coming from without searching the whole codebase. Ruby is fraternal knowledge, and its secrets are stupid.
