Tho I personally wouldn't get much functionality if I check my email and only have cached emails from last time I checked.
Hey nostr:npub1mea2vwcu06qf7e4x00wd902vj54qnn2jacq76ldntrgfhtvhlpqqrvqane what's the point of your Proton Mail, Proton Calendar and Proton Pass desktop apps if we can't access the data without internet connection?
Software is still better at verifying end to end encryption than a web browser that accepts any signed certificate. It's also a little more sometimes. Still nice to have offline functionality tho.

The annoying thing about #foss is either once a month or once a year it will fail catastrophically depending on the project.
All other drawbacks aside proprietary software almost never fails catastrophically. And if it does like Google drive just did it makes international news.
The big proprietary stuff fails as often as you are struck by lightening. The FOSS stuff fails in a yearly, monthly, and sometimes weekly basis.
As you may guess I am experiencing a failure right now. Not one, but two. Three if you count the one this morning.

I will defend big agriculture however. No matter how you put it either there's big agriculture or billions die. Like market capitalism: it's bad and the worst system, only it beating out every other thing we tried.
I won't defend Monsanto or billionaire investors who want to manipulate data to further their investment though.

In techlore/eu my thought is the enemy of my enemy is my friend (not that Apple is really my enemy but just hey better privacy/tech rights maybe). If the EU can force Apple to not do that that's a good thing IMO. More choices and tech ownership even for those damn apple people is a good thing.
I wouldn't choose my tech based on advice from techlore especially not after his wholehearted endorsement of Google and Apple. Nothing against the dude on a personal level though. Lol ironically I found him back when he was endorsing #GrapheneOS
Unbelievable! /s
I'm always confused as to how people willingly gave up control of their tech. Sure I might be the wirdo with Linux and Graphene. Still the idea I'm not allowed to use a browser that uses pwa (had I owned an Iphone) standards just seems absolutely absurd.
