I see a fair amount of LND hate casually floating around, are there legitimate reasons for this or is it just tech bro elitism? it does seem easier to use than core-lightning, and as someone who's struggling to catch up with the minimum technical prowess necessary to effectively self custody on L2 I'd really like to make it as easy on myself as possible.

I'm so completely unconcerned with onboardimg when it comes to the long term view of NOSTR because it's such a versatile and powerful protocol. There's a reason why I went through the trouble of getting set up here even though I was already off proprietary platform and on the fediverse. Not to mention we're riding the Bitcoin adoption coattails in a way as well. There's no reason to take drastic action to onboard new users lolbwe just need to be patient (and a little evangelistic)

My goals going into 2024:

-Hike Katahdin

-Earn my blue belt in bjj

-Stay humble

-Stack sats

Lfg fuck the noise

Then the US military is not your ally. Much love bro we all get heated talking about things with such deadly ramifications. But for real, the US is not your ally.

Perhaps uncalled for but you may as well be actively calling for the US military to invade your homeland

United States intervention created the Taliban. The CIA armed them and trained them. I don't endorse the current Iranian government but any country that has been subjected to US military intervention is worse off. Even Korea: the yanks went in, massacred 10% of the CIVILIAN POPULATION, installed a puppet government in the south, and the Kim regime still exists, so what exactly was accomplished? Anyone who welcomes the US military into their country regrets it after they destroy their infrastructure and kill their families. If you're actually from Iran, I implore you to look more into the dark truth and cold motives behind US intervention in the middle east.

You're helping blaze a trail that the world will follow, best of luck!

The whole point of ActivityPub (and NOSTR for that matter) is to create a decentralized and truly public online social infrastructure why the hell would you use an AP implementation owned by Meta. It's as nonsensical as putting your hard earned money in a volatile cryptocurrency whose nodes are all owned by the same foundation

Threads is the VC shitcoin of microblogging lol. "OK so what if we use this protocol that allows everything to work in a decentralized way at a slight cost in user experience but like we still own it all." OK what if you go fuck yourself?

Don't run from cognitive dissonance, seek it out, dive in, and resolve it.
