When the client sends a message, the relay verifies the authenticity of the signature (clients do this too) in the message and forwards them to those who have created a websocket connection to the relay and subscribed to listen to events. Of course, Relay certainly does more in terms of optimization, etc. and they save messages so that they can be seen later. Log user ip/messages/geolocation/etc and sell it to ads companies 😂 Not saying this is happening but.
