Thank you for taking the time to explore…
I don’t have a particular sales platform for my work. I have always worked independently, across media, and mainly through commissions. As a result, my web presence, especially in relation to the public live art and performance work that I have historically perhaps been most visible for, has always remained more archival than promotional…
But the link to my archive, and the various other documentation platforms it is connected to, is in my profile…
The things I share here are usually simply fragments and debris from my work and process, as they happen or return to me… And the key word there is probably ‘share’, as they are simply offered here as part of the public conversation, without the expectation of a return… For better or worse, my experience is that, unless you a have a particular and recognisable ‘product’, this is not a space were interest easily translates into any real support…
That said, I do have rules about what I share, in that the fragments I post here are in some way all part of my own physical and live work… Unless otherwise stated, any visuals you see from me here will be mine, original, and directly made not generated…

If only to complete the venn diagram, I have to publicly state that I rate both joker and taxi driver…
I’ve been a bit quiet, preparing the space and materials for some new studio work… provoked by my decision to begin a new long-term series of physical drawings.
If I had to choose, I would probably have to say that drawing, that act of scratching out something with marks and colour on some surface or other, is my first language… And for many reasons, no doubt revealed in the many and various motivations of all my performance work over the years, I’ve always understood my drawings and paintings primarily as acts and objects, rather than simply pictures.
Which I guess is why I so rarely share them online, as the documentation can only ever really assert the image… and why I tend to limit my posts here to the photo and graphic work, that doesn’t need translation.
But I will try to share something of these coming drawings, as and however they develop…
One thing I do know from the start, is that I’m calling and thinking about these new drawn works as a series of ‘small dilemmas’... I’ll be using the tags #dilemma and #smalldilemmas on related notes. Any of my visuals with those tags here will be part of this process, original, and entirely hand drawn.
To open, a few fragmentary details of what’s currently taking shape on the paper here in front of me… and might, if it survives the process, become my first dilemma…

Take it from an old person who has watched their metabolism shift, and their weight stay pretty constant, for the past 40 years… it’s not rocket science… if you’re gaining fat you don’t want you’re eating more calories than your body needs, if you’re loosing weight you want to keep you’re not getting enough fuel…
