I've just started using strike for LN transactions but is there a better alternative?
Funny how it turns out Reddit decided to crush web3 out of their platform. Oh well, their message was received loud and clear.
Is this Community still open?
Literally me lol. I've been getting zapped all day and I love it!
Welcome friend! You've journeyed far to the other side. So have I. You must be wear from your travels so take a rest stop here and relax for a while.
Reddit is a link aggregator website that had some of the best community ties I had ever seen. It had its problems Iβve the years but always pulled through.
This year the company made the awful decision to cut off API usage unless third party apps were willing to pay exorbitant fees, so the apps all shut down.
nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 posted there today to show them that nostr is likely the way forward for Reddit users, and everyone came to support. If you see any joining then welcome them
Reddit went from building communities to chasing monies. They butchered API access which caused a two day Reddit blackout that thousands of subreddits supported. Mind you, some even closed their subs permanently. Then they removed the awards system which was a fun way for users to upvote and reward great content. To add insult to injury, they introduced what they called a "Contributor program" aka a KYC cash grab (only available in the US), then the final nail in the coffin was the removal of the Community Points system yesterday.
That moment when I thought Nostr was a type of ostrich like bird but then research shows:
Nostr stands for Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays.
Well technically it wasn't so much a shitcoin as it was primarily created as a governance token and was not intended to have a value. It was used in governance polls, contests, banner rentals and special memberships which had value and utility to the users themselves. It wasn't created just out of hype or greed. The community, through participation gave it a value by creating a Liquidity Pool and pairing it with ETH. Bur inevitably, as of yesterday it's totally a shitcoin.
Lol considering there's a post over in the r/cc sub about this app you could expect that #Reddit will be trending for a little while.
Boosted your post just because. I don't have Spotify though but I wish you well in your endeavours πΆ
Meanwhile:
Lightning Labs Rolls Out 'Taproot Assets,' to Make Bitcoin 'Multi-Asset' Network
Taproot Assets will give developers "the tools needed to make Bitcoin a multi-asset network, but in a scalable manner," according to Lightning Labs.
The community is heartbroken so activity in the sub is low. To be honest, it's garnering more attention and upvotes than alot of other content.
Just did my bit posting on the nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 Reddit thread with a 10+ year old account.
Everything counts and Reddit users are a perfect fit here. I know because, obviously, I was one.
Reply on the post if you see open ended comments with questions βοΈ
If other people here, who are or were a part of Reddit could probably go on the post and help answer some questions and maybe that'll help as well. A little can go a long way.
Sure here's the link:
Somehow this felt rigged lol. Some questions were tough...

Welcome to Nostr
I tried to Zap you some sats meaning send some bitcoin to you through this post.
Its really easy to set up just download Wallet of Satoshi from the app store
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wallet-of-satoshi/id1438599608
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.livingroomofsatoshi.wallet
Open the app click Receive

Then click the lightning address

It should now be copied. Go to your Nostr profile and paste it where it asks for a lightning address. Now people can send you some bitcoin through the lightning network via your posts on Nostr β‘οΈ
Or strike app for Android. It was alot easier to set up than I thought it would be.
Hey I can from Reddit as well. Let's all support each other β€οΈπ
