Doing his job!
Gm #Nostr happy Wednesday everybody

Gm oh no eww ๐ญ๐ฑ
Today's recipe is my famous pizza egg bites recipe, they're basically egg muffins with a twist, pizza style! Italian sausage, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese, all tucked into inside. I make a dozen, which feeds six people or can be a week's worth of quick breakfasts to go! Enjoy.

The crap people hear at Walmart and complain about isn't Christmas music, this is.
Lmao ๐
Idek what you're talking about lmao (and I don't need to)
Other people's feelings are not your responsibility.
I suffer from this too.
I don't done out much on purpose, mostly because it's too expensive, but also because I can cook much better at home.
Relatable. Free carbs, ugh. Especially when it's something that came with my online delivery by mistake. I have to physically take it out to the dumpster and open the package, pouring all the edible contents into the rest of the gross trash.
Up until the latter part of the 20th century, everyone knew that fatty red meats (like beef, lamb, and other ruminants), full-fat cream and butter, eggs, bacon, and the occasional seafood and organ meats were THE healthiest foods to consume.
Somehow, breads, grains, and vegetables mistakenly became thought of the healthiest foods. I like to think that the reason was because there were parts of the world in which populations did suffer near-starvation and famines, and that's where bread, oats, and other grains & starchy vegetables helped bolster these folks against wasting away from hunger. However, I feel like it's in these instances where people mistakenly got idea (that's still pervasive today) that grains and vegetables were so healthy. We would hear about oatmeal, potatoes, rice etc. being good for us. Well, yes, if you're starving, those foods will work miracles on you to put on weight in a fairly short time. It's because these foods are not building blocks and don't help repair the body, like protein and fat (respectively) do. They provide energy.
Well, folks... we have millions of people walking around carrying an abundance of stored energy on their bodies (including me, to be fair and transparent)! Anyone who is trying to lose weight or keep a stable weight without the constant struggle of blood sugar crashes and rises will be well-behooved to stay away from these foods to not only keep from gaining fat, but to feel their best.

Counter-economy / counter-matrix shit:
1. I started my own group in my area (based on the principals of freedomcells.org--local action, solutions-focused, decentralized, non-political,) and we do a lot of things together like support each other's small businesses, gardens, and privacy/security tech stuff.
2. Everyone in my local group trades goods/services or uses cash or btc. Almost no one takes cards or checks.
3. I trade with people irl a lot. I make food (mos of it's low carb/diabetic-friendly), and people are pretty happy to get homemade soup and jerky in exchange for something. Sometimes I fix people's websites and computers, and they pay cash, or we get coffee or lunch and it's on them.
4. Our group also has regular Agora Markets between spring and fall and we invite local vendors to join us in an effort to show we support indie entrepreneurship, and try to encourage anti-statism in terms of business practices, but we don't look down on anyone who is new to it all and still takes Venmo or whatever. Most of them aren't familiar with libertarian/anarcho principles, but we plant the seeds with conversations, and we put out a table that displays material devoted to the information, as well as on our website, and they (and visitors to the markets) get a chance to think about it, and they come back or they don't.
We can only meet people where they're at and hope they're interested. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
The greater metro Freedom Cell in my area gets together regularly and holds skill sharing events and discussions centered around things like self reliance and sufficiency, unbanking, trusts/PMAs, etc. Many are interested in the counter economy but aren't savvy with the btc just yet, but eager to learn. I think that when times aren't bad / there's no current hysteria, everyday normal people are less apt to prioritize freedom and liberty so our group growth slows down a bit. But we're doing pretty well considering we're in a very blue metropolitan area that has also seen an increase in red-leaning statism as well (over the last 4 years).
Thank you to the few folks who have been engaging w/me the last two days since I joined. Wanted to give a rough overview of the bits & bobs that make up me.
#introductions #newbie
You can call me BJW. I live/work for myself in the Twin Cities area of MN as a web tech and small-time urban homesteader (I garden, can-preserve foods, make jerky (http://mailboxmeat.com).
Interests:
I like urban hiking/walking in milder weather. My favorite seasons are fall and winter, since my ancestry is heavily Scandinavian & anything warmer than 75 F, you can catch me inside, howbowdat. I collect vinyl records, and TV/movies on my local cloud server for my own enjoyment. My musical tastes vary widely. Everything from mid-century jazz , classic rock, and old r&b/soul are my fave genres. I think my most-played artists are Steely Dan, Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz, and 1950s-60s-era Herbie Hancock. I read a lot of different stuff, but prefer to stick to nonfiction. But when I do fiction, it's most often historical fiction.
Career:
My job is currently heavily-interent-dependent (web hosting/server/back end websites) but if I could quit all that to work at making food for people in a completely non-fiat-loop and just do tech stuff when I feel like it, that's my dream. https://ketolish.us is where I post my recipes and my first cookbook is also available there.
Goals:
Eventually, I'd love to completely unbank myself, but I remain tethered while I figure it all out. If I could get my butcher to accept btc, I'd have it made for my jerky biz. For now, I accept payments online via fiat until I can find suppliers convenient for me.
De-Googling myself was something I started digging into years ago and in the process, I learned to move from stock Android to LineageOS in 2018, and then to GrapheneOS in 2021, where I've stayed put. I now offer phone de-Googling as a service, but can also teach it.
Agorism/Anarchism community:
I created & maintain a small local anarchist/agorist group off-shoot of the Twin Cities Freedom Cell & we are working on more get-togethers to meet, network, and skillshare all things outside the systems in areas like: communications, finance, and self-suffiency. The main site is at https://tcfreedomcell.com. We have an agora market summer thru fall, if you're in the area and want to shop local: https://tcfreedomcell.com/market
My Content:
I will often share recipes, music, and tech/privacy stuff. My latest project is this nostr thing and when I'm not busy working or trying to get other goals achieved, this is where I'll be putting my focus instead of twitter (while trying to get my tweeps over here, as well). I also love seeing/sharing silly pics/GIFs/videos of cats and animals...one of the small bright spots in my day that makes me laugh.
