If you were up at 3am last night did you get enough sleep?

I think I didn’t communicate clearly. I’m not a fan of putting people on pedestals and the tortuous cycle you see repeating of build them up to tear them down. I consider that part of the hive mindset. I don’t want to go on Twitter or anywhere else and rage against the hive mind. I feel like it’s an inefficient use of my time. I’d rather build towards something that is intrinsically different. I think we can just agree we’re both against that mindset and that we’d rather not see it here. So what do we do personally to create a different culture? That’s the discussion I think we should be having.

It’s not ok. But some people are content to be rewarded by the work alone. Public accolades and attention can be uncomfortable. The public love to put people on a pedestal just to kick it out from under them. I don’t particularly understand that urge or where it originates. When I see people who aren’t getting what I feel is their due for their work, I feel it’s best to let them know personally. I may also share publicly how their work impacted me. Instead of trying to take on the hive mind as whole. Which feels like a fools errand to me.

For some reason that top makes me think their are men having a fencing duel for your affections out of frame.

It’s not a problem limited to Jack or the tech industry. So many companies where the people who contributed funding got more attention than the ones doing the work. I’ve yet to see accolades and blame distributed fairly.

i had my own opinions about him before and still now. not negative nor positive. i will say my friends will never be nice to billionaires no matter who it is.

i think we see beyond the “he’s so rich i want to be him, so i’ll simp for him” thing that is seen in older gens. i just disliked heavily that people would correlate nostr and jack all the time. when the devs who made this possible are the ones who created it.

I feel like gen z as a whole gives many less shits about public opinion. I see it reflected in what feels like a lack of fashion trends currently. They seem more content to march to the beat of their own drum. Maybe it’s just the ones I’m around. I dunno. What are your thoughts?

Sometimes the words you want come later or through someone else. My 3am thoughts are normally some weird dream or why the f am I not asleep?

Jack is also going through a transition phase in public perception. He’s really throwing his weight behind projects that aren’t his so to speak. Just projects he wants to see in the world. Fiatjaf is a nym and the public want to attach a face and name to the project. They’ll latch on to who they recognize most easily. Sometimes you just have to keep doing what you do and let public opinion catch up.

I feel like people have a barrier of understanding about protocols. A good deal will never understand it on that level. When clients really start taking off, particularly a client that is doing something completely unique, that is when adoption will really happen. Right now public sentiment is, “oh great another Twitter clone.” They’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything competing for their attention.
