Laozi did not believe that was an inherent good or evil attribute to natural phenomena but rather that their existence required balance.
This concept helped me understand the importance of taking time to be with my wife and kids but also not resent leaving them for work. Both go hand in hand. The better I work to bring a good income to my home the more quality time I can spend with my family when Iβm with them.
It's easy to get wrapped up in the idea that more time is always better when its the quality of that time that really matters. None of that is possible without the balance of action between work and leisure.

I think they got excited about the accolades that came from getting rid of the gangs. That WAS the government's job now with the streets clean they might be looking for a something new. They've been doing so well up until now, they should now focus on international relations and creating vital relationships with neighboring countries. Leave the economy to its own devices.

There's been a fixation on happiness as if that is or should be the desired state of the populous. Happiness is and should be fleeting. It comes and goes like hunger or thirst.

2. Intimacy is hard to come by
3. Relationships (part of intimacy) are shallow and people are having a harder time creating even shallow relationships
4. Social media and virtual escapism eliminates opportunities for physical relationships (not necessarily sexual but can include sexual) to bloom
Looks like there are quite a bit of things to work on. The best place to start is with yourself.
