Nice that I can follow as many people as I please on Nostr without worrying about it de-boosting my posts due to a bad following:follower ratio like on Twitter
Is there a tool that can automatically post on other platforms like Twitter when you post on Nostr? Maybe with a little tag that says "originally posted on Nostr", could be good exposure
Like murmuring into the void
Holy shit, TJ Miller was at nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h and did a dramatic reading of the original HODLING post
Super short snow season in Japan this year. Hope that's not indicative of years to come π
I'm gonna take a stab at it. I think it's an abbreviation or a hit-send-too-early for "If you don't post again after posting 'gn', do you even nostr?"
Seeing these Sora videos makes me think that within a few years (at most) we'll see a blockbuster movie made entirely with Al, no actors, almost no crew.
It'll be infinitely customizable for different countries - want Asian actors for an Eastern audience? Boom. Want it all in your local language? Boom. Want to tone down (or up lol) the graphic content? Boom.
Not only will all film-related jobs be far less in demand, we'll lose the shared experience that movies/TV shows have been up until now. We have our own news, our own social feeds, our own echo chambers, but at least we were still watching the same movies. No longer.

A few years ago I was translating something by a wealthy Japanese art collector, and one thing he said stuck in my mind.
He said he thinks it's better for an artist to grow up in a small city or town rather than a big city like Tokyo because in a big city, you're surrounded by people at the top of the game and it's easy to feel like you'll never achieve what they have, whereas in a small city the competition is less in your face.
I think social media or the internet at large has the same problem, we all have access to the most popular entertainers, most engaging writers, the biggest podcasters, etc., so it's easy to get discouraged if you're trying to follow in their footsteps. Worsened by the fact that it seems much more within reach because of the accessibility, but secretly isn't.
Kinda wish I could just do my thing, even if it sucks, without knowing about all the people doing it better than me.
"The death of Navalny, a 47-year-old former lawyer, robs the disparate Russian opposition of its most prominent leader as Putin prepares for an election which will keep the former KGB spy in power until at least 2030."

I'm just not cut out for social media
"This is a revolution. This isn't about Bitcoin adoption, this is about changing the future course of humanity.
Bitcoin adoption is a means to an end, but it is not the end. The end is not that the price of bitcoin is higher and Bitcoin companies are behemoths...
This is the first time in human history that we've had this opportunity to not change who wields power but change our very relationship with power." - nostr:npub1gaxapm9t9damh6q2lpc04ptcyeh0ysfdfzzs997agu3ae80ftrns7t985l of nostr:npub17cyatz6z2dzcw6xehtcm9z45m76lde5smxdmyasvs00r4pqv863qrs4ml3

Great conversation with nostr:npub1gaxapm9t9damh6q2lpc04ptcyeh0ysfdfzzs997agu3ae80ftrns7t985l and Adam Nili of nostr:npub17cyatz6z2dzcw6xehtcm9z45m76lde5smxdmyasvs00r4pqv863qrs4ml3 yesterday. Goal is to edit and upload on Beyond The Price today.
What they've achieved in El Salvador is incredible and I can't wait to see the curriculum start to hit East Asia as well. Right now the only Asian node in their network is Hong Kong, but I know it's being translated into Japanese so hopefully we'll see communities start to pop up around here.
Where's the best place for #Nostr usage metrics?
Watched the movie Upgraded last night. It was alright, basically a Devil Wears Prada remake with a slightly different plot.
More and more of those it seems - Love Wedding Repeat as an updated Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridgerton as an updated Pride & Prejudice...even Star Wars Episode VII was basically a remake of Ep IV.
I hear studios are taking fewer risks these days, but I wonder if these are actually pitched this way or if it's a little more coincidental?
Just a reminder that I am always looking for more Bitcoiners in Asia (esp E/SE Asia) to have on the podcast or just connect with to stay abreast of Bitcoin adoption in the region.
Recommendations, introductions, and amplification much appreciated. It's Asia's time.
