few years back the German state offered some stuff as reparation to my family for being expropriated under Hitler and the Communists. their deal was great: pay nothing to get something worth nothing, but you sign that you build it up again according to building codes and historical protection, keep it in good repair and open it to the public once done. what a great deal :SoraWow: and if you decline you'll not get a thing since you were offered reparations.

Monero is surprisingly stable huh

Microsoft tells me they respect my privacy and I should accept their updated Outlook ToS.

1.) MS forced me to make an account with my phone number and all so I could play Minecraft.

2.) I did not ask MS to update anything.

3.) I will not agree to anything.

MS will probably force me to, so I can continue play Minecraft, but thanks MS for respecting me in this way!

the squirrel that ran from one side of the street to the other for weeks not just got hit by a car and died. farewell fren and many nuts in the afterlife!

Google uses volunteers to add roads to Google Maps. if only there was an ethical, free and open source alternative. I could envision calling it Open Street Map.

nostr:npub1c4sgd346sl9uh7mjhn99xjsu7t8dwm54kl6hxp3k0qyl4kz6v94qh5aqv4 currently mostly reading rudy rucker short stories, but i started a book called 'the emperor of scent', which is about a scientist who tries to find out who the sense of smell works.

i didn't even know that was much of a questions, but it is, because smell seems to be doing something that's impossible: detect any kind of molecule, instantly.

for comparison, the digestive system detects (and digests) some molecules instantly, but can't adapt very much (you can never eat grass).

and the immune system can detect (and destroy) most molecules, but it takes time (you get a flu first).

but the sense of smell can detect any molecule in a certain size range, without ever having seen it, either in the lifetime of the person or in evolutionary history.
