i had a bit of a "okay grampa" moment there

i was talking to someone born post-2000 and they were amazed to be talking to someone from the "20th century"

there is a threshold where i think "this could be my aunt or mother" and that's where i can't work up a boner

things i think are true despite what people politely say:

10 = child

20 = young

30 = not young anymore

40+ = you're old

being a lady does not make you interesting. if guys seem to think ladies are interesting, that's their dicks talking. try being 40 and a lady and see how many guys are keen on knowing you...

i'm finding that i mostly like guys. i'm a guy. no surprise there. remember being like 10 and hating cooties? i think we might've been onto something there. i'm just not feeling much love for women as actual people. people who say "i love women" are also the sort of person who is chasing skirts.

in a corrupt society you might be able to give someone a nugget of gold and get something back

the mental model i have adopted for likes, reposts and zaps is as follows:

like = good

repost = very good

zap = excellent

on a 5-point scale:

like = 3

repost = 4

zap = 5

zaps are fine but that many feels a bit simpish. i can't possibly be posting that much good content.

you can't really block on Nostr no. a block usually prevents them from seeing your posts. thing about "just comment on one of their posts" is that they're not posting. just tipping 4 sats for whatever i say. i'm not sure what is the purpose...

i don't like it. if it tipped 10000 sats i wouldn't complain, but it's tipping a uselessly low amount.
