Trump shocks the world with pro-Putin resolution at the UN
180-degree turnaround by the USA within a few days - even at the United Nations!
On Monday, the Trump-led US government wants to introduce a resolution on the Russian war against Ukraine that does not call Russia an aggressor, does not demand the withdrawal of Russian troops and no longer calls for the restoration of Ukraine's territorial sovereignty.
This was reported by the AFP news agency, which said it had seen the draft resolution. The UN General Assembly is due to vote on the resolution on February 24, the third anniversary of the Russian invasion.
While the EU ambassadors to the United Nations met for an emergency meeting on Saturday morning (German time) to discuss their further approach to the pro-Russian draft resolution, Russia's UN representative Vasily Nebenzia saw the shock resolution as a “good step”.
