TIL about “exclusion water” or the process of adding an extra hydrogen molecule to your water in order to “improve your life”. Snake oil never changes.

TIL "Methinks the lady doth protest too much" is meant opposite to how it is used. It's not meant to doubt someone denying something, but rather someone proclaiming something. "Protest" (pruh-test) is a different word than (pro-test) that means to profess in favor. This is the origin of "Protestant"

TIL: The 1928 movie 'Noah's Ark'. While filming of the flood scene, 600,000 gallons of water was dropped on the set without warning the actors, so their reactions and fear on film were real. Three people drowned, one had a leg amputated, and many suffered broken limbs and other serious injuries.

TIL about Phobos 1, a Soviet space probe launched to study Mars' moon. It shut down before ever reaching Mars because a technician left out a single hyphen in one of the keyed commands. All commands were supposed to be proofread by a computer before being transmitted, but the computer malfunctioned.

TIL that cartoon depictions of the sawfish having a sharp cutting snout are more reality than fantasy. While myths about cutting ship hulls are untrue, bad injuries result for boat crews.
