1) My grandmother and my Aunt. Grandmother died many years ago from Alzheimer’s complications. My Aunt, the child in this picture is now years old. Her husband of over 60 years passed away 2 weeks ago. When they were taking him away, she said: “Don’t go far Jake, I am coming right behind you.” It’s true, she is very I’ll now 😭

2) My grandmother, same from above, with my grandfather. I never met him. He suffered from polio, and his life was cut short after complications resulting from an auto accident. He was a truck driver and worked on the railroad.

3) That is my dad in the background with side burns. Long before I was born.

4) My younger brothers and sisters. They are triplets.

5) My children and my twin nephews.

6) My wife.

Life moves so quick. Today, it feels like it’s almost over for me. Closer to the end than the beginning.

All day in the OR. Now it’s time to go home and give what little I have left to my family.

They deserve better.

These grow really quickly too, that bag has only been open since last Wednesday! Apparently the chestnut mushrooms will be slower, about 20 days for them to be ready to eat.

I bought this blue oyster mushroom growing bag at the farmer’s market last weekend. It seems to be growing well so far. I bought another one today for chestnut mushrooms so will see how that one goes as well.
