is that why I can't zap people? I thought I screwed something up.

that's just a solid investment obviously. joking aside, it's hard to buy a house with nothing but Pokemon cards.

bitcoin and crypto are no different. the only thing with real value are tangible assets. money just exists to trade things of actual value more easily.

lol these are so fucking dumb but alsogreat when they are non sequiturs.

this one is just assault.

looks like there's an alien or robot just chilling in the middle

it's unfortunate but you have to reach critical mass. if you can't converse with the people you want to in a new network, people won't leave for it.

it's like trying to get everyone you know to switch to a foss secure messenger (like simplex) when everyone they talk to is still on some closed system like whatsapp.

nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z forgive my ignorance on this but I get a lot of crashes in amethyst when I even quickly view a user profile who has more than ~500 followers. it seems as though it's trying to load too much memory for the app to handle. it used to be rare but now seems like most people I follow have that many followers and I basically can't view any profiles at all.

would it be possible to limit this somehow to a max memory usage and/or automatically free up memory of any data not in immediate view as soon as some arbitrary number is reached as to prevent the overload?

or maybe some kind of pagination/infinite-scroll that frees up memory on the fly?

maybe this is a huge ask or not a quick fix. apologies if that's the case. keep up the great work. still my fav android nostr app!

the tenorflow is the part that impressed me the most about the demo.

not perfect, but text searching for objects or places actually returned some pretty close images id expect to see. very neat for a self hosted option.

FOSS Friday: Immich

Move over Google Photos and Apple iPhoto, there's a viable self hosting solution in town and it's called Immich.

I've been using Immich for a while. It's fairly easy to setup, if you have a home server or use one of the "Bitcoin node OSes". I use the docker container version and it works well.

If you're looking to ditch Google and Apple for your photos and videos, please remember that storage devices have a 100% failure rate. You need to have good backups. And you need to test them.

I backup my data locally at home and then I remote backup to my parent's house. It's my own private cloud. 🤣

tried the demo and I'm impressed. couple mobile bugs spotted but good find thanks. I'll give it a trial run!

easiest option is get a custodial wallet addr option like walletofsatoshi. you can move the zaps you get to your main wallet for a fee whenever you want to.

subbed. thx.

interesting auto play for me if you wanna build one
