competition is good for an ecosystem but miserable to live/build through. just remember the design goals were aiming for: open markets, freedom to transact and anyone can compete to serve
love it or hate it: jack dorsey sponsoring lukeโs pool was the biggest accelerationist act of the decade in terms of moving the chess board forward for bitcoin protocol design around tx relay and block construction
rough :/ strong money, stronger haters lol ๐
yeah i really donโt get everyone talking shop about buying sats *now*
watching the price run and god damn do people love to feel like theyโre part of a larger thing than themselves (thatโs moving in the right direction)
turns out im bad at logging off ๐ญ
i dont keep in touch with any of the people that had the convos.
i see the coworker that helped paint the closet every time im in town
one time i worked at a really great coding camp, and we had an off week without students
i decided i wanted to clean out the coat closet and turn it into a cozy spot for meetings. the space was an open floor plan and meeting spots were in high demand.
i spent the majority of the week moving stuff out, coordinating give aways of leftovers, another coworker painted it, i rented a car and made hardware store runs for supplies.
while i was doing all this, the majority of my coworkers hung out and had important conversations about how to improve the space.
i dont think anything they planned or discussed came to pass
the cleaned out coat room was well loved and saw a few different makeovers before the org moved to a new location
conversations are important, but action matters more

dont build on inefficiencies, fix them
it sucks to know youโre building the best thing you can and that people are probably going to feel threatened by that
you want my honest take on rust? I saw the Builder pattern and ran the other direction as fast as possible
it's not time sensitive, just a personal commitment
got reminded of this explainer I wrote 5y ago about how RBF works https://basicbitch.software/posts/2018-12-27-Explaining-Replace-By-Fee.html
