You can, but it’s not straightforward. Try loading the image into a note, take the image url it creates, load the image url into the DM. Then send. It’s a workaround.

Personally, I see it becoming more than either of those. But data storage is the real hold up on full media, how to host all the data. Who knows how to manage their data storage so that it can be stored somewhere and retrieved elsewhere easily. 🤷🏻♀️ I believe that there are many here that can program management tools into their editing options, but those feature have not begun to cover the editing features on the others. That shouldn’t stop a creator from doing those edits on their devices before loading to a client. Some creators are pretty crafty.
So, ya, I think so, but it’s going to take some adoption by creators that want to help build the future of #Nostr with extended media features. And education for those that are already #OnlyNostr on how to be a creator with the tools provided.
