DISASTERS At Big South Fork - Emily Broke Her Toe(s) and I Almost Lost My Drone

Disasters! It was our BEST trip of the year and our WORST trip of the year. A tree root reached up and hooked Emily's foot and she wound up with some broken toes. My drone decided to go on an unplanned trip and almost wound up in the Big South Fork River. It wasn't all bad, however. We salvaged things and had a great trip (including the best hikes of our year).

Bond investors rejoice! Rates are falling! Let’s go back to generational lows! Yay! Loan the US gov’t for 30 years for 4.5%. Good luck with that. I’ll sit this one out, however. I’ll park some short-term savings in a money market at 5.25% yield (<3 month duration).

If you think inflation is gonna run below a 4.5% rate over the next 30 years… HFSP! Imagine owning #bonds Certificates of Confiscation!

I don’t really like owning a money market, honestly. More than longer duration bonds, however. Back during the ‘08 financial crisis I remember the $1 peg broke on those (which ain’t supposed to happen). But if the short duration bond market croaks we’ll have bigger problems.

I’ll take the risk to earn the 5.25% versus letting some bank bend me over every month for .5%. Fuck ye bankers! I guess I could move some money to an FDIC backed version of a money market. I just don’t care that much. Keeping things simple > minimal safety/security.

I love having a genius billionaire who understands Bitcoin AND capital allocation managing my capital in a tax advantaged account.

Hanging Out In La Jolla and San Diego, CA - Grinde Family Trip

We spent a week with family in San Diego exploring up and down the coastline (see previous 5 videos). We stayed in a house in La Jolla. It was our home base and where I watched the cousins perform many pool acrobatics. Thanks, Mimi and Pops for shacking up the whole clan for a fun week with the family.

Tourist-ing in San Diego, CA (Tourist Stuff)

We did as much 'tourist-ing' while in San Diego, CA as we could fit in. We ate at Liberty Public Market several times and everyone enjoyed it. We went from a house in town down a tunnel inside the La Jolla Sea Cave. We watched an exciting 'bases loaded at the bottom of the ninth' San Diego Padres game at Petco Park. The Taco Stand in La Jolla was fun to watch them crank out delicious food. The Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography right on the Pacific coastline had some great species. The California Tower at Balboa Park had great views of the park and San Diego. We finished the trip with a final run through In-N-Out Burgers before heading home.

San Diego Zoo (San Diego, CA)

My second visit to one of the best zoos in the nation (if not the best). It takes a full day to see it all (and I'm still not sure we did). That darn reptile house will continue to give me food for nightmares for years to come (again). [rattlesnakes are as scared of you as you are of them...doubtful...but I'll keep saying it anyway]

Max's Tomato (DeanoFarms: Week 68)

Max and I both grew a tomato plant this year. We were not having a contest, just both trying different things. I faired better than Max (because I own earth). Here is his story! The story of ONE tomato...not plant...tomato! LOL #deanofarms

Exploring La Jolla's Beaches - San Diego, CA

We explored ALL the beaches in La Jolla while visiting San Diego, CA. We hit the La Jolla Tide Pools, Wipeout Beach, Children's Pool, Seal Rock, Scripps Park, Shell Beach, Point La Jolla (seals everywhere), La Jolla Cove, and the Sea Cave. On another day we explored La Jolla Shores Beach. We even stopped at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park Beach on our way back to the airport.

The '68 Ford Bronco's New Home #broncos

A beautiful Tennessee Fall afternoon was the perfect time to relocate the Bronco to its new home at our farm. What a beautiful drive!

6 Years of Deanco Investment Group!

I’ve been tracking my investing journey for the past six years. I’m beating every index I compete against. [brag much Deano?!?] Most pros can’t beat their benchmarks (so I’m extremely proud to do so). Of course, it could change tomorrow. No worries, the past year has been a wild ride. I’ll take it! #InvestmentScorecard

Great Hikes Around San Diego, CA

We explored some great places around San Diego (mainly the La Jolla area) on foot. We hiked around the Torrey Pines Gliderport area (but didn't walk off the ledge like some crazy people there did). While there we hiked down to Black's Beach (a nude optional beach where we did NOT fit in). We hiked to the top of it all at La Jolla Heights Preserve. Then down into the depths of Annie's Canyon. Then back up again for an incredible 360-degree view atop Mount Soledad.

Almost Lost My Airpod Tomato Farming (DeanoFarms - Week 62)

It is dangerous farming out here folks. These tomatoes and these chipmunks will straight up rip an Airpod outta your skull! #deanofarms

USS Midway CV 41 (San Diego, CA)

We visited the USS Midway Museum while in San Diego. I'd been here many years ago but it is totally worth a redo. The size and scale of this ship is fascinating. As we toured the entire ship I tried to imagine what it would be like working on this ship when it was in action. But not too much because I get seasick thinking about it (wimp).

Planting A Peach Tree (DeanoFarms - Week 56)

My Mom had a peach pit sprout in her compost pile. She gave it to me and it sat in a bucket for a few months. It survived until the middle of summer so I threw it in the ground. I'm using it to test out some of the gardening stuff I've been learning. My success is now in the hands of a higher power. If I pass this test maybe one day I'll have a peach to eat.

I was told of The Flippening.

I was told the 'merge' would make ETH 'ultrasound money'.

I had my doubts then, still do.

Bitcoin is not crypto it is #Bitcoin. I have nothing against ETH it is just different (and definitely not ultrasound money). It has nothing to do with money.
