Blockchain forensics will go down as the DNA forensics of our era: Junk science based on black box algorithms that stole the liberty of innocents.

Read Robert J. Norris, Exonerated: A History of the Innocence Movement (2017).

The similarities are striking:

Spent a few minutes reading about DESO this morning. What an absolute cauldron of VC-backed crypto excrement.

https://www.deso.com/

An immense amount of engineering work has been put in to making it "scale" through the use of low-level use-case-specific optimizations, and reams of documentation has been written, carefully ignoring the fact that social data is truly immense, and that however it's optimized and compressed, it will ultimately scale to PETABYTES of new content PER DAY. The documentation handwaves at "sharding" to reach "1 billion users", but there's no protocol for discovering nodes that hold the data you're using.

Nostr shards from day 1, which has created a lot of problems for us. But at least we're starting with the right assumptions. But we desperately need to lean into the pain of locating relevant content so we can properly solve it over the long term.

DESO is rebrand of Bitclout, which fraudulently misappropriated people 's likenesses with autogenerated profiles and prevented many ppl from withdrawing their Bitcoin. A buddy and I looked into bringing some kind of class action at one point.

It all depends on the specifics of the policies states enact. A year ago I suggested a few with historical success of resisting federal monetary overreach: https://www.bitcoinbrief.io/california-civil-war-states-rights-resisting-cbdcs/

@resolvr is trying to bring assurances to bounties through nostr native reputational signals and dispute resolution to solve exactly this problem. Please come contribute to the project so the FOSS #bounty market can flourish!

If these badges aren't already NIP-58 nostr events ([https://nostr-nips.com/nip-58),](https://nostr-nips.com/nip-58),) they should be. I want to show off my Bolt.Fun experience across all my nostr clients!

Great conversation. Johns is a real one. He and the nostr:npub1funq0ywh32faz0sf7xt97japu8uk687tsysj8gndj4ehe825sq4s70gs0p crew don't get nearly enough credit for their efforts accelerating open-source development.

Clarity in the bounty description is key to avoiding disputes and controversy when developers seek to claim a bounty.

And resolvr.io is a nostr- and bitcoin-native bounty marketplace with dispute resolution tools designed to resolve disputes when they do arise.

This is great. We are finalizing our own nostr DLC client for the nostr:npub1fmunwy3lljfyzlgyuyman79lxwm4efz6pzlgqjwc400pr9l708qquvje8w bounty marketplace project for the nostr:npub1funq0ywh32faz0sf7xt97japu8uk687tsysj8gndj4ehe825sq4s70gs0p hackathon. Pretty similar set-up, except we hadn't thought of DLC receipts!

Is nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg going to support DLCs on lightning soon??

I think it's ok to not focus on making your product fit for a mass market right away, IF you build with a market scaling plan that adds users with decreasing levels of nostr familiarity gradually:

* Build first for nostr users/devs, then

* bitcoin users/devs, then,

* General open source software users/devs, then

* Technical early adopters, but nondevs, then

* Boomers.

Thanks for the post!

Thanks, Moritz! We need many eyes on the bounty board interface once we get it functional. Alpha testers wanted!
