People that are shit at running nodes (and terrible node default settings) are the reason the average person feels burned by lightning. nostr:nprofile1qqs0nt9skq6vfsgh06v979rrnuchau87mmnk2lqxpv2xaeusqfp30mqpzamhxue69uhky6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skctcpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctc9ad278is right, running a routing node is not for the average person.
LMAO I didn't even had to make this shit up, someone eventually wrote it unironiacally
Pack it up bois, leave node running to the pros. I'm not worthy of the priveledge nor possess enough intelect
I run a node and yes, I am shit at doing it.
I only know about it from notes like yours
Is this a new level of gaslighting?
A: Lightining UX is shit
B: wdym, custodial wallets have great UX, what more could you want.
A: self-custody
B: nOoNE iS sToPpInG yOu (except terrible UX which was the whole original discussion point)
I don't get triggered by that. OTOH ordering coffee and getting a large bucked of dirty water mixed with milk does trigger me.
It's not that surprising. If you ask the normies, they also love vemno and revolut. Custodial lightning is only slightly worse.
Fair point
If people are making up their minds based on twitter/nostr comments, I wouldn't have such high hopes π
I see no point in arguing with people who are being intentionally misleading. Nothing good ever comes out of it.
My latest invention is eXaMineR: a free and open source tool for tracing monero transactions

Read the comments. These supposed bitcoiners blindly believe outlandinsh claims without verifying just because they like the "conclusion".
But that does not protect you against a compromised OS.
I don't get it why a simple USB key signer needs to be do pricy.
What would you recommend instead?
The /tmp directory in my node has a 4GB tmpfs and it's still getting filled up causing my node to break once a month.
Probably one of the services is very chatty causing heavy logs.
Because bip47 sucks for senders while SP sucks for receivers. Encouraging the sender side probably results in more adoption.
Lex Friedman + Elon Musk == peak tech cringe
I'm sorry but I cannot endure 8.5 hours of that, even listening at 2.5x
