Anyone know of a replacement for Google Docs/Sheets that's built on #Nostr?

#AskNostr

You recently interviewed nostr:npub1hz5alqscpp8yjrvgsdp2n4ygkl8slvstrgvmjca7e45w6644ew7sewtysa, who was an absolute pleasure to work with at the Nostr booth and nostr:npub15xd2mmjnh3caykh77djsv73e0zkrp42jp5mwerx8f4m6su40wdvss7t3l3. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ The Vancouver city council voted in favor of the city further studying how to incorporate Bitcoin! ๐Ÿ™Œ

It's not on par with making Bitcoin legal tender, but it's leaving the door open for more opportunities and growth. Well done, Vancouver! ๐Ÿ‘

My copy of the @npub1zf8p8cdg67hhx46wvdm96yd2jc9z3hen5nf606edwhv26ummf4vssf7888 just arrived! ๐Ÿคฉ Now I can read it a second time, and not on a screen.

And this time, I'm ready to take notes ๐Ÿ“, and I plan to read it out loud and discuss it with my kids as part of their homeschool studies. ๐Ÿ“™

I thought Christmas wasn't for another 2 weeks! ๐Ÿ˜†

Well done, Vancouver! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Here is the Bitcoin motion that the Vancouver City Council is considering today:

"Preserving of the City's Purchasing Power Through Diversification of Financial Reserves - Becoming A Bitcoin Friendly City"

You're in our prayers, Vancouver! ๐Ÿ™

So Microsoft's shareholders voted against Microsoft adding Bitcoin.

This is FANTASTIC news!

Everyone gets Bitcoin at the price they deserve. What price should that be for Microsoft? Is there a high enough price?๐Ÿ˜

And now you get to stack at these low prices for longer.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Yes, this is definitely the perfect time to finish reading it! My oldest son and I finished it last week, and we loved it. Now I need to re-read it, though, since there's so much in it that I need to process and apply! I also want to read it out loud to my wife and younger kids, so I think I'll just do that and hit two birds with one stone. ๐Ÿ˜

We played a 3-hour game of Cities and Knights of Catan earlier this evening. Settlers are like pilgrims, so it's a bit of a Thanksgiving tradition for us to play it as a family.

I lost, in absolute last place, but my 12-year-old son won, and we all had a great time, so I'd say it was a complete success.

GN

Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. The 4th Thursday in November, I believe.

(I'm an American, and even I can't remember how Thanksgiving works! ๐Ÿ˜…)

Yep. When my daughter was much younger than a 4th grader, it was hard for her to understand monetary value, so I explained it using bananas, which get spotty and then rot in real life, and fictitious "super bananas" which only get better and more delicious with time.

I told her that, for this analogy, bananas = fiat, and super bananas = Bitcoin.

Me: "How many super bananas would you want?"

Her: "As many as I can get!"

Me: "Great! When would you ever eat (spend) them?"

Her: "๐Ÿค” Only when I REALLY need to."

Me: "Good. How many rotten bananas can I give you for 1 super banana?"

Her: "๐Ÿค” Infinite...? No, wait! There's no amount you could ever give me!"

And that was when I knew that she understood Bitcoin.

Today is the anniversary of the JFK assassination by CIA operatives.

Seems like as good a day as any for #Bitcoin to reach #100K.

And not just fiat money. Fiat in *all* it's forms.

In other words, the laser eyes are never coming down.

I met my daughter's hero today, @npub1clfjjuhrnr2dyrxknvdgg5v4dnq55t5svkk34r76rpwzqf5cjdas7rk28k, at @npub1ad0ptuzte83alpkpqqctvewlaqj5zq23c83m82xw8apg4t6zlyns6xng2c.

I was reading The nostr:npub1zf8p8cdg67hhx46wvdm96yd2jc9z3hen5nf606edwhv26ummf4vssf7888 earlier this morning, and this part stood out to me and hit ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฅ. ๐Ÿ˜– I needed it, though. And every Bitcoiner needs to read this (as well as the rest of the book).

Oh, & GM.

- Heraclitus

In our pursuit of excellence, we must reclaim the word elite. Traditionally speaking, the elite were those who worked to improve their society. They were the leaders of men, leaders of industry and patrons of the art and beauty that fills the old towns strewn throughout Europe. Todayโ€™s elites are not elite โ€“ but parasites who seek to undermine society. They spend their time leaching from the producers, bloating the government with a bureaucratic managerial class, revising history and filling the minds of the young with toxic ideology. Their goal is to weaken our culture with degeneracy and ugliness. To sully our history, and leave the world ugly, unsafe and uninhabitable while they retire to their opulent mansions behind private security.

As a result, the word elite is today erroneously conflated with parasite. This has to change. We must rediscover its root, and take it back. It comes from Latin ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ด, which means โ€œchoiceโ€ or โ€œselected,โ€ itself from ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ, โ€œto chooseโ€ or โ€œto select.โ€ The PIE root of the word โ€œeliteโ€ is ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜จ, which means โ€œto collectโ€ or โ€œto gather.โ€

To be elite is to be the โ€˜selectedโ€™. The choicest or the selected means โ€˜the bestโ€™ and thus to be elite is to be the best in your field, to be the cream of the crop, to be distinguished and outstanding.

Most people suffer from anti-elite syndrome. And while I can sympathize, their misunderstanding of the true meaning of the word causes them to point their vitriol in the wrong direction. In fact, many are so brainwashed by narratives of the average man, that theyโ€™ve come to hate anybody who excels. This disease of average is prevalent even in the Bitcoin space. You hear it when people say stupid things like โ€œwe are all Satoshiโ€, or celebrate being a โ€œplebโ€. This also has to change.

We are ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฉ all Satoshi. Satoshi did something far greater than any of us probably ever will, and to lay claim to that is both arrogant and ignorant. Yes โ€“ I understand the reference to the whole Guy Fawkes thing โ€“ which is cute โ€“ but itโ€™s extremely inaccurate and disingenuous.

Aspire to be โ€œlikeโ€ Satoshi in grandeur and virtue, but do not claim you are him.

Furthermore, the pleb thing is not just cringe, itโ€™s hands down false, or will be soon enough. Just being in Bitcoin makes you part of tomorrowโ€™s economic โ€œeliteโ€. Barring any mistake, you will wield significantly more financial and social power than someone who comes into Bitcoin a decade from now.

What will you do with that power? Of course, that is the focus of this book. It stands to reason that you must at some point come to terms with the fact that you are no longer a โ€œplebโ€ but part of a small group of people who are ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ต, economically โ€œelite.โ€ You should recognise this and begin to develop the attributes of a more holistic individual, working toward excellence in other areas of your life. You cannot hide forever behind the pleb moniker as an excuse for sloth or poor behavior.

Humility is important of course: โ€œstay humbleโ€, but strive also to upgrade your behavior, enhance your vocabulary, deepen your knowledge, and become more cultured. With great power comes great responsibility. You donโ€™t want to be some rich turd in a Lambo, or the eternal Twitter troll. Thereโ€™s much more to life than that.

To operate on a higher energetic plane, we need a grander perspective. We must climb the mountain. Weโ€™ve been tricked into believing that โ€œaverageโ€ is ok, because it represents the little guy. But the truth is that there is nothing aspirational about being average. Average doesnโ€™t require courage, passion, drive, responsibility or self control. Average is a low energy state, and a small story designed to make you give up on your dreams โ€“ to trade all you could possibly be for what youโ€™re told you should be.

Pursuing excellence is one of the highest callings in life, as is the practice and cultivation of the virtues presented in this book. The world needs strong leaders โ€“ not trolls, plebs or parasites โ€“ thereโ€™s plenty of that around. As a Bitcoiner, this duty rests with you.
