Gunther - Ding Dong Song

the kind of trash we listened to in the 90s as teenagers in Europe:

Dr. Alban - It's My Life

this guy produced both Madonna's most famous songs, made David Bowie famous, and was a major part of why Daft Punk's RAM album was a hit.

and before that, he made both Sister Sledge and Chique famous.

Nile Rodgers, ladies and gentlemen

take all the cool pop solos you've ever heard and make a song out of it

KC and The Sunshine Band - That's The Way I Like it

these people weren't concerned about race or gender. it's a pretty even mix. they just wanted to make a good song.

this is from 1975 and was made before i was even born. but i think it's really good music.

the song in question:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSwg59g84Rw

it's a negotiation between two adults having love problems.

listening to this edition to the song

the Simply Red version is better known but this older version has better vocal harmonisations

gives me more chills

i think the song If You Don't Know Me By Now kind of nails how you have to treat relationships

we routinely fuck up. and no relationship is friction free.

"i can fix her."

shut up, brain.

it's probably a good idea to tell people "brb" if you disappear in the middle of a chat conversation.

you don't know anything about how well your country functions unless you've made friends with a few people who don't fit into the system

why is it always that when you get attention you get addicted to it

something for both the music lovers and the anime lovers this time

as a person with executive function issues (#ADHD) i see the value of having that more than others, i think.

it gives some insight.

all people vary in how much they have of that trait. some people are almost machine-like in their ability to coherently execute a plan. others are less so.

this ability to persistently organise and execute is how people make more money, gain more power, have more sex.

it's not entirely up to you. circumstances and genes play a significant role. significant enough that i can't really be a right winger. it's just too obvious that the playing field isn't even.

a friend of mine has all these airline miles he doesn't know what to do with, and also, free cruises to Denmark.

they're usually off-season cruises on inconvenient days, but seeing as i'm not employed, that's not really a problem for me.

whether you're male or female and whether you're friends with a male or a female, one of the least interesting things you can talk about with your friends is your love interests and partners, unless they're mutual friends. more broadly speaking, listening to people talk about people you've never met is pretty uninteresting.

this is what sucks about being friends with people who are in relationships, car stuff or not

you read it on Wikipedia once? i read Wikipedia too. shocking, isn't it...
