Migrated to @thj.

me working: i wish i had more time for my hobbies.

me unemployed: time was not the problem...

hot take: the third prong on the mains plug is overrated.

it's only there as safety.

ideally, electricity would kill no one.

but even if we removed all ground prongs and holes from all mains plugs and connectors today, it wouldn't kill all that many people.

light bulbs don't have grounding. they work fine.

the ground prong is designed for the sort of electrical apparatus where the chassis is made of metal and some wire or the other might accidentally touch the chassis.

it's not all that useful in a computer, for example. i mean, if you have a habit of touching the PSU of your gaming rig, sure, maybe, in the unlikely event...

you can mostly get away with no ground wire. i'm prepared to get into an argument about this.

relevant information: i understand Ohm's law.

i would like to link to a song

i would not like to sell it

i would just like to refer to it

but every single search result i can find for it wants money

it's not any better on Duck Duck Go

it links me to sites that ask money too

am kind of wanting one of those electronic typewriters. or maybe just an old laptop with a stripped-down Linux that boots straight into vim...

maybe one reason Oslo feels so pointless is because there are no primary or secondary industries here. it's almost exclusively service sector. you need to leave this place to find people who are working with their bodies and making things.

the circumstances need to be right though.

developmental disorders mean that there a certain lack of flexibility. the word kind of has to adapt a bit for us to perform the best.

call me a diva or such. i'm not ASKING you to do it.

just saying that if you do want some very good work performed, here are the conditions.

setting an objective limit for ND (neurodivergent, autism, ADHD) vs NT (neurotypical, healthy, average) is not easy.

personally, i set it at "inability to keep a full-time job reliably"

if you're not able to carry the average workload, you're disabled, and others have to help lift you.

if you can carry that load, you can. you're not disabled. struggling a bit. but functioning. you might be slightly ND, but it's not crossing the limit.

nostr:npub1whnum8nhxdrrny6jnc3etx7n46m6wnt77ee7h2has2zsfjyyqdhshctwsa if you are getting by despite struggles and suffering, this is called courage, not ADHD.

nostr:npub1whnum8nhxdrrny6jnc3etx7n46m6wnt77ee7h2has2zsfjyyqdhshctwsa it is the failure to perform at something resembling average level that is the disorder.

nostr:npub1whnum8nhxdrrny6jnc3etx7n46m6wnt77ee7h2has2zsfjyyqdhshctwsa if, despite all complaints, you can perform at close to average level, you are not disabled.

does your life suck royal balls? sure.

are you still getting by? then you do not have a disorder.

i shared my view in a group for people with ADHD that if ADHD does not lead to actual inability to do things, it's not an actual disorder or disability.

they did not like that very much.

if your life quality is not being worsened, it's not a disease. you're just complaining at that point.

i have ADHD and i do hold that opinion.

nostr:npub1uxmmyz2nw8ys8npflt93m9yu5c8ewckp00xsu5g3aykvn836jt7qyxujtm they're describing it as a high pressure front meeting a low pressure front, which is causing a lot of wind. Oslo is further away from the open sea and largely sheltered from these storms, but yesterday was definitely "hold onto your hats" weather. there's still a bit of wind.

donut disturb me - i'm having breakfast

tonight seems like a good night for food delivery. one pizza chain in Norway used to do movie deals: a pizza, a soft drink and a DVD delivered to your door. they only had a handful of movies to pick between, but that made the choice easier.
