Biotech in Saint Louis. Complex systems.

Oppenheimer was outstanding

post-post modern.

acknowledgement of aperspectivity while simultaneously pointing out that not all truths are created equal

a case study of a man who is capable of acknowledging the good and the bad of a set of circumstances, and continuing to do the work

also sitting with my morning cup- wondering why you think this is?

been saying alot the last few weeks the biggest zeitgeist/disconnect in the long-bio space is folks motivated by fear of death vs love of life.

as you say those with love of life don’t actually seem to be out for biological immortality. more acceptance of personal death but rather focusing on a big problem that resonates with them.

fear of death crowds makes me weary because it more closely resembles an ideology that could be circumvented and abused- ex: EA crowd- moral mission hard to disagree with but used to justify shady behavior

c, g and I have been discussing a 4 day event for builders in stl inspired by our time out here.

4 focus rotation, 1/day:

ai

biotech

fintech

public goods

early vision but something we’re strongly considering organizing in the fall.

we want to find an opportunity to disseminate what we’ve learned here in stl and generate similar energy in the promised land(314)

mizzou or washu have not offered a platform to talk about this type of work but would surely do so if the opportunity presented itself
