To paid relay operators:

I'm working on a concept for how service providers could add recurring LN subscriptions and I'd like your feedback.

I already drafted a spec and coded a demo for something that IMO should work with current LN tech (BOLT11 and LN Addresses).

Spec: https://oak-node.net/doc/trunk/doc/ons/ons-4.md

Demo: https://se.oak-node.net

Let me know what you think. Does it make sense? Do you see any major problems with it? Is there something I missed?

Thanks!

I like the idea of a prorated subscription! Nice work. Also, I think Wallet of Satoshi (and probably a few others) only allow adding a limited characters to the LN note/memo. I think in WOS It's limited to 32 characters. This would mean users of such wallets would not be able to paste their entire public key. However, I think it's more of a WOS problem.

It would also be nice to have a QR code displayed that automatically handles this for the user after they input their pubkey on the input field of the website.

I'm going to test it out with another wallet.

Loads just fine for me on Damus. What client are

You using?

Yes, I also don't know if a central notification controller is needed. Perhaps, if every client could work on a way to provide granular control over different types of events that we are notified for and only see notifications for certain types, it would work for me. But I know that involves some work.

For paid relay operators: If a user has switched profiles from an old publickey to a new one and they are admitted to your relay with the old public key. You can update an existing public key to the latest one without having to have the readmit themselves, if you would like to. Steps to do it:

1) Run: 'docker ps' and find the container ID associated with postgresql instance running for Nostream.

2) Run: docker ps exec -it psql -U nostr_ts_relay (Make sure to remove <> angle brackets).

3) Once connected to postgresql as that user, execute this: UPDATE users SET pubkey = '\x' WHERE pubkey='\x'; (Make sure to remove <> angle brackets).

Just claimed my Iris NIP-05 ID https://iris.to/ezofox. Nice to see Nostr clients providing this service.

Awesome! 🤙 that’s great news. Gonna have to read through nostr news to catchup

Ohhh those. I see them on my

Notifications a lot. I guess a notification system control for certain types of notifications could be useful.

Great! Things are going good 🤙

Awesome I need to catchup and learn what hellthreads are 😂. Always several new great things being introduced.

Just did, responding now! 🤙

🫂 Hey 👋. I hope things are going well with you!

Been working on orangepill’s NIP-05 auto registration and management. Took a while to get everything working. Will publish details about it soon. I thought to take a short break as well from Nostr while working on it.

Been a while since my last post and Damus has more new features and improvements to the notifications. Great stuff!

Following up with everyone’s messages. 🤙

Look for a tiny/small form factor Dell optiplex on eBay, used, open box or if price is low a new one. You need not buy the latest generation, but some decent i5, i7 8-10th gen or Ryzen gen 2

and 3 would do depending on your use case. You can add RAM later on most of these

MiniPC’s, except some very small form factors ones that come with soldered RAM.

Hi threeseries, You're admitted to the relay and I can see you have already added the relay to your list of relays. You should be all set!
