They’re just cardboard though. A stiff breeze will knock them over.
Your job is to make it from one side of the mall to the other.
At first the cut-outs don’t notice you, so you start to run.
As you rush past you knock over a few pieces of cardboard.
Uh oh the cut-outs noticed you.
Quick time to go!
You sprint, knocking over more cut-outs.
They swarm and dog pile you while making angry faces.
This is it. It’s over for you. You’re at the bottom of a pile. Everyone hates you. You’re never going to accomplish your goal. The darkness is closing in. The faces are so angry. How could it end this way? They’re just cardboard…
Wait a second, they’re… they’re cardboard.
The epiphany hits you like a smack in the face.
You explode up from the bottom of the pile. Cardboard people flying in every direction.
You’re sprinting now. You don’t even put out your arm to knock down the cut-outs. You just run right through them.
They’re cardboard and you’re a real person.
How could you have ever forgotten such an important truth?
The mall is empty.
