My point is what is ensuing in this community concerning funding is not an isolated issue to Nostr alone.I understand our uniqueness in being a decentralized platform and ensuring that funding is not from a single organization is paramount and non negotiable. I believe we can collectively discuss and decide the parameters of what projects should be funded, how to implement sustainable funding solutions etc.

Some of my suggestions are :

- [ ] The Nostriches choosing 7 ever-changing nominees who will decide what is important to build and fund on Nostr. Comprising of Nostr persons with diverse interests. Who will act as Product Managers, Marketing, Developer Advocate, Fund Raiser etc Championing their thoughts on what is necessary for the protocol. Nostriches will vote to approve or reject these proposals. These discussions must be timed and prioritized.

*hopefully we get a poll feature or some sort of voting protocol*

Or can we simply Zap a note to agree and reply a note to disagree, if that would be more cost efficient.

- [ ] My second suggestion is a call to a general consensus agreed upon by all nostriches that; Though a decentralized platform there is a cost of freedom or whatever value they derive from Nostr. And what should be considered is the time and effort of Nostr developers and the knowledge base from open source. We would agree on a minimum payment [via bitcoin]for developers upon each feature release or major feature release. As aforementioned the releases would be voted upon so that there is mutual alignment with nostriches and developers.

*Pardon me if I butchered any of the terminology or missed any points discussed over the last few days. If it’s not obvious I’m not technical at all. I’m on Nostr because it feels liberating to send out thoughts I deem noteworthy, fearlessly. Nostr is a public journal and diary, for me. A glimpse of my essence. My notes are spiritual, deep and profound but also fun, beauty-centric and cheeky. *

Yesterday I observed the discussions about funding open source developers. Combing through complex dev-lingo I understood that the core of the dialogue was about these pain points;

- [ ] Nostr Developers do not receive funding

- [ ] Creating a sustainable system for open source developer funding

- [ ] Discussions about ceasing or not ceasing to work on bitcoin protocols

- [ ] Developers are working on their own multiple projects/features

A few days ago on Nostr we were sharing “Dan” jokes, it was nerdy, joyful camaraderie. I didn’t quite understand the banter but it was lovely to see memes unravel in real time. I hope to continue to be part of a positive community.

Nina please find time to eat 😭🤍
