I did this negative watercolor a little over 5 years ago. It was the first large completed piece I had attempted. About 16” across. I’m thinking about redoing this one but not sure how to go about it.

That’s one way to do it! I tend to paint around the dry ‘object’ (like the leaves in this) with wet in wet technique. Lots of layers, each one darker than the next. You can also use masking fluid. There’s a few ways to go about it.

Negative watercolor technique. Probably my favorite technique in watercolor. Also just really like painting plants, so there’s that 🌱
