At first, I was doubtful that he would stay for a long time. It’s physical, the refereeing is dogshit, but it looks like he adapted really well. Yesterday he scored a beautiful free kick 👌🏼

but if you ask me who the greatest player on this team is, it must be Rodrigo Garro. That Argentinian is pure poetry

In my latest very dumb experiment, i’ve gotten a Xitter™️ account again. Firstly, gfy i’ll probably delete it soon. I have my reasons, gfy again.

Here are my initial thoughts:

1) the onboarding experience is terrible. You must curate your feed heavily, same as nostr just centralized and it shoves elon’s account in your face immediately lol

2) the algo is appalling. It makes you choose at least three interests while setting up an account. I think mine were finance, food, and nature… and then it shoved tiddies and public fights/people dying on camera in my face. I had to seek out bitcoiners to get any semblance of reason on my feed

3) it immediately locked my account twice and made me prove i was a human by entering a second email code (already did that initially) and solving a weird puzzle

4) i had to say “not interested in this” repeatedly on tiddies (despite not not being interested in tiddied. I’m civilized ffs) and war and street violence and politics, and all of those still pop up anyway

5) didn’t let me “be seen” or have dm’s until i interacted with the piece of shit timeline enough for its arbitrary and opaque liking

6) Xitter™️ still can’t distinguish what a degen vs a bitcoiner feed should look like, causing me to be exposed to dumbass shit like “alt season incoming, load your bags!!” in response to shit like dan held

7) no one engages when you don’t have a blue check and lots of followers. Again, no better than nostr in this regard - in fact it seems even worse

After these Seven™️ highly insightful insights that nobody could’ve known without me doing this, i have come to the conclusion that Nostr is better and look forward to it growing since we all know open protocols and interoperability WIN

The only way to make it sufferable is to have a group of friends already, or else you’ll probably become politically radicalized, addicted to tiddies, degenerate shitcoiner. This comes as no surprise to me, as the only reason i ever really used it back before it became Xitter™️ was to stack sats and shitpost with my friends on the Stackchain™️ (who so far don’t even know i’ve done this, because this is an experiment you fucks so don’t add me to tard chat or anything)

I’ll keep it open until i can no longer bear the Xittiness of it all, could be today or in a week or a month, i have no idea tbh

The only benefit seems to be that if used carefully you can see what’s going on out in “normie” land better than here… for now. I also can’t help but notice how many nostriches are still on there, but who am i to judge (nobody)

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading, dan

The algo is terrible. I think I spent 20 seconds reading the tweet of a politician and got fed hundreds of said ideology tweets non-stop. It’s impossible to have a normal day reading the news without getting shoved with whatever the algorithm thought I should see.

I’m Corinthians all the way

Fluminense did have a pretty interesting season, but now they have a coach that I’m not sure if he’ll survive long.

And they still play football terribly 😬

Evolving

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Last year, when I applied for the scholarship, I did so thinking I’d never get it because I was 33 years old and had already graduated in a different area (I applied for a bachelor’s in tech. I hold a languages degree).

It turned out that I was wrong and I was one of the 40 Brazilians given the scholarship.

It’s been 3 weeks of online classes so far.

My sincere take:

1 week: I don’t think I have ever seen a class being taught in that way. I mean, I understand different teaching styles but that was not a style, a technique or anything. It was totally an unprepared, unstructured week of classes. Not only that, the professor often screamed at students whenever they made mistakes, among other things.

2 week: our professor was traveling, participating in an event. We had classes at different times. It was scheduled but never started at said time.

3 week: well, I’m typing this while I take a deep breath. The professor hasn’t shown up yet. I haven’t mentioned it but our group is made of students from Africa and Asia (Africans, Middle Eastern, Asians) and I. So I’m the one sitting at the worst time zone. Classes start literally at 2 am for me. But I wanted to do it, right? So I never missed a class. My life has turned upside down. You can imagine what I’m feeling after 2 hours of waiting…

I needed to get at least this bit out of my chest. I never thought I’d be saying “well, maybe I shouldn’t go” but this thought is getting stronger on me. Disappointment is the word.

4 am here and off to bed I am. I tried, fellas. Good night

Masculinity is under attack lately. But I like masculinity actually.

I know, shocker.

The fact that so few U.S. presidential or vice presidential candidates have had beards in modern history is funny to me. I think men usually look better with facial hair, and the older they get the more likely that is. 20-somthing or 30-something strong jaw dudes often look great without facial hair. But when men are 50 or 60 or whatever, that salt-and-pepper beard is so rad and almost always beats the no-beard weak-chin look. I actually think it's weird that neither Biden nor Trump have a beard. JD Vance looks like shit without a beard. Growing a beard is the best move he ever made, imo. And yet the media is like, "A vice president candidate with a beard?"

Masculinity can be rough around the edges, but that's what we need sometimes. It's usually balanced by other societal aspects. In some societies it gets extreme and needs to be pushed back on. My husband has a temper, but his temper is part of his power and why he impacts the world to the extent that he does. So when I interact with his temper, it's not about eliminating it, but rather it's about appreciating it but making sure it's directed in the right direction.

Masculinity and femininity are good. They don't need to be forced. Nature is diverse but society tries to categorize nature into narrower categories. Feminine men and masculine women are cool too. But that doesn't change the fact that masculine men and feminine women are also cool.

I grew up kickboxing and submission grappling. I'm a tomboy. I'm a feminist in terms of promoting equal gender rights. But at the end of the day, I appreciate masculine men. I was never attracted to men who were weaker than me in any capacity, but rather was always attracted to men with gravitas.

The easiest approach to life is to 1) respect biology as it is but then 2) also appreciate the divergences that inherently exist within it.

Trying to equalize nature is to fight against it. And yet trying to eliminate the diversify of nature is also to fight against it.

Nature is fascinating, and I do my best to appreciate it.

From my time teaching in China: Zhuhai

I had a stopover in this city In February, 2020. Most of the country was in lockdown, but I was able to walk around the city as a free bird. Spent 30 hours in the city before heading back to Zhengzhou and, of course, to our local lockdown.

There's an interesting aspect to bitcoin that I can't quite grasp. I mean, I have used other coins in the past (mainly telegram's coins to send a bit of money to my Russian account to pay for courses) which is the amount of things related. For example, so many options of wallets. I understand some are more secure than others. Or buying. Or keeping. Or selling. To be honest, my lack of understanding is much more being a child who can't play with the toy, so you just watch and don't quite get the hang of it.

🤣

I actually think it is worse than these people are predicting. With these endless wars, the US is burning a lot of bridges and is destroying its own economy. It might not feel as though but to me it seems the US has already lost the timing to stand on its feet. Without some crazy-ass changes, it is done. And by done, I mean it won't be beautiful
