I so dearly wish I had a viable answer. 60 years ago, during the most violent days of the Civil Rights movement I thought it would fade away. Lunchcounters were accessible to all, gas stations closed the 3d restroom, "whites only" signs were removed. I thought the new generation, growing up alongside darker-skinned people would take it in stride, wonder what the fuss had been about.
