Good for you for trying to quit, weed is addictive and bad for your brain and lungs. Weed, like other substances, floods your brain with dopamine. But anytime you do that, you’re making your brain less sensitive to natural dopamine. This is why you feel depressed, the normal things in your daily life don’t produce the same effects anymore. I recommend you get therapy. If you don’t have insurance, you can sign up with crowdhealth and get free virtual therapy with them as part of your membership. Find a therapist you like and work on it. You can change therapists as many times as you want.

One thing you can do to help quit the weed are cold showers and ice baths. The cold is very uncomfortable and basically does the opposite of what weed does to your brain: it makes you more sensitive to dopamine again. Cold showers are very difficult in the beginning though. I start with a warm shower then flip it cold at the end. Over time I try to stay under it longer and longer. Your brain will start to get better at tolerating discomfort and your dopamine sensitivity will return. Some people take this to the next level with ice baths and have been able to overcome cocaine addiction with it. Just make sure not to put your head under the cold water because I’ve heard that can be bad for you. Good luck.
