Which note taking app do you use?

I used OneNote in the past. Convenient but from a privacy point of view terrible. Also the synchronization between the devices at times tedious. No future for me.

In parallel I have set up #obsidian. The idea was to switch over time. However, for me the app is a bit overwhelming🤯. The free sync between Windows PC and iPhone is a disaster (via iCloud) and the price for the paid version is a joke. 😤 And its closed source.

#logseq looks quite exciting and is FLOSS. Can't imagine working without folder structure. Sync is currently in beta. I will give this a try.🤔

I've been testing #joplin for a few days now. Quite rudimentary - but I'm happy. FLOSS, encrypted data and a free sync which works fine so far.

My needs:

- Daily Note taking (bulletpoints with my highlights and achievements)

- Many lists (Checklists, ideas „To read“, and „Someday/Maybe“ stuff, etc)

- Inbox for my thoughts and some pics

- Research projects

- Personal knowledge and learning

- Book summarys

- Inter Note linking

- Flexible Format (Markdown)

- Sync across devices Windows -> iPhone (this may become superfluous in the future)

- Ideally FLOSS
