I wish I had $1000 for every time the word bonus was spoken in a job interview.
People are going to relearn in the next decade how to harden the fuck up. The government is going to make sure of it.
I think people need to be prepared to be on nearly a mono diet if necessary. Potatoes, oatmeal, beans, rice, and anything on 4 legs within a mile that doesn’t have a collar.
JHFC. Bullshit. One more organized sport that won’t see a dime from me for sponsorships or otherwise
Love seeing your journey Joe. Keep it up brother. 🤙🏽
Remember that in a crisis, your bathtub can usually be filled using the last remaining water pressure available in your neighbourhood, for wash water and toilet flushing.
And don’t forget, you’ve got 40-60 gallons in your hot water tank that can get you through several days too.
One of the best things I learned this year was the importance of making a small hardcopy laminated card with all of your important phone numbers on it, which gets tucked in your wallet and backpack. With contacts being so easy to add to our smartphones nowadays, nobody needs to remember phone numbers anymore. It’s a major vulnerability. Give a copy of the card to every family member and protect yourselves against the disaster of losing contact with your peeps in a crisis. Worst case, if all comms are down, make sure everyone in your household knows where the primary and secondary walk-to rally points are if SHTF.
That guy with the Damascus got laid
Utility Tree Trimmers. The grid depends on them.
"We are all waiting for multiple varieties of shit to hit the fan. Other disasters pushed climate disasters out of the spotlight at the end of 2023, allowing people to maintain the guise that these are all distinct and unrelated events.
You can ignore them or claim that they are all ‘accidents,’ once-in-a-hundred-years events, or it’s always been like this, but they aren’t going away.
...
This is disaster planning that, even if you don’t want to do it, you should think about, or it will haunt you. It is probably hovering in your mind, or you will not read this."

One of the greatest success stories of the people pushing back against the creep of communism and socialism is that of the Polish Solidarity movement. We are at a point today where widespread public actions like general strikes and extended mass work stoppages are the only thing that will force change. It starts with every household laying up 3 months of provisions. Most households haven’t disciplined themselves to even lay up 3 days’ worth.
That’s what they should have done in Coutts, Alberta
Pretty much the best most inspiring tip I’ve heard all year.

It works pretty well as a text editor for stuff you want to paste into Nostr and delete after you copy it. A $40B text editor lol
