This marks one of my first #retrogaming splurges of the year, and as you can probably guess, it wasn’t cheap. Building a gaming collection solely for personal enjoyment—not for resale—is both a bittersweet and expensive passion.

(Context: I suspected that as soon I got Blue & Red on my hand were fake or independently/unauthorized remanufactured electronic board with the ROM pasted on its NAND, which is already in terms of the cost of ACTUALLY playing it and not just for collection display exclusively, so no doubt REAL COPIES aren't cheap AND WORST than this purchase)

As a former Pokémon player who stopped buying/playing (because stupid thinking of "maturing") after the 4th generation (Pearl/Diamond), I reminded myself that I’m not getting any younger. I want to finally say I’ve experienced both the earlier and current generations of these games.

For now, I might forego on creating gaming content with at least the first 3 gens if I can’t manage to snag a GameCube Game Boy Player or an SNES with the Super Game Boy in the next couple of months.

Maybe it’s better to just enjoy the hobby privately rather than risk running afoul of Nintendo’s stance on retro gaming content creators.

(Yes, I know that this justifies the usage of emulators, but still, that hasn't stopped Nintendo and their petty attitude on retro gaming emulation.)

At the very least, I’m thoroughly enjoying my renewed love for retro gaming. It’s funny how it faded with age for a while, but now it’s back, and I couldn’t be happier to reconnect with it.

With this, I'm 8 gens left out of the current 9 of this collection journey ! (I assume that Black & White 2 are a proper gen itself rather expansions of 6th gen, so no need to tell me that there are just official 8 generations so far of main launches).

About some gamers that might feel that I should not be supporting fake Pokémon games sales, it is not hard but also, is not easy to know before hand if a game is fake or not.

So, I could not entirely know before hand if a game is fake or not because resellers are extremely careful with the physical aspects of GB cartridges.

Objectively speaking, OG and legit Pokémon games, mainly the first 3 gens are a RARE thing to find it on steal reselling prices.

I would say that is not that bad in terms that you just want to play & not merely collecting for display (which would be the total L of getting a fake game).

While a NYSE debut for Discord rumor keeps resounding many walls, it was announced that co-founder Jason Citron will leave the CEO chair & replaced by former Activision Blizzard Vice Chairman Humam Sakhnini.

Despite this, Citron will remain on the Board of Directors and technically not leaving Discord at all.

Is true that if Discord needs to be economically viable, an entry at NYSE is inevitable if there are no more capitalist ventures willing to keep floating money to keep Discord alive.

But, the concern of gamers and power users are legit considering history of companies changing tasks, vision and goals to appeal more to investors rather than their own costumer.

Time will tell.

With a Unceremonious announcement, Sucker Punch Productions confirmed Ghost of Yotei will be released at 10/2/25.

The game will cost $69.99 as MSRP & a Collector's Edition will be an PS Direct exclusively with preorder beginning on 5/02.

The Skyblivion project, the independent mod to maintain & upscale The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion before the existence of the official Remaster, shared that Bethesda encourage them to continue & gifted the staff key codes for the game.
