Situational Awareness: A New York City federal court has convicted a man for sharing a "meme" on social media which the Justice Department said was a "scheme to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote." In 2016 the man posted an image on Twitter that contained the text "Avoid the line. Vote from home. Text 'Hillary' to 59925".
Debrief: The federal government chose not to prosecute the case for 4 years but then arrested the man in late January of 2021, days after President Biden was inaugurated. There doesn't appear to be any other action by the man aside from the sharing of the meme which is claimed to be "election interference".

Situational Awareness: It was revealed this week that the U.S. Government signed a contract, in November of 2021, to utilize NSO Group's geolocation tool that can "covertly track mobile phones around the world without the phone user’s knowledge or consent." 5 days prior to the contract, the Biden Administration signed an executive order banning U.S. cooperation with NSO Group (an Israeli firm). The FBI secretly made the deal under the front name of Cleopatra Holdings which it had also used in 2018 (installing the software in 2019) to purchase the firm's hacking tool, Pegasus, which was used to "conduct targeted, invasive surveillance in ways that were unavailable before the advent of the tools." The 2021 contract violated the Administration's own Commerce Department blacklisting.

McDonald’s Corp. is temporarily closing all U.S. offices this week as it prepares to inform corporate employees (of which there are 150k) about layoffs undertaken by the burger giant as part of a broader company restructuring.
The Chicago-based fast-food chain said in an internal email last week to U.S. employees and some international staff that they should work from home from Monday through Wednesday so it can deliver staffing decisions virtually. The company, in the message, asked employees to cancel all in-person meetings with vendors and other outside parties at its headquarters.

MONTANA TRAIN DERAILMENT
Around 9:20 a.m. calls came into the Sanders County Sheriffs Office of a 25 car train derailment. This happened on a Montana Rail Link line who have been notified of the derailment, but no known company is identified yet.
First responders say there is no threat to the public, but there has yet to be confirmation about what the affected containers were carrying. There have not been any reported injuries from the crash. This crash comes less than a week after 70-car train hauling hazardous materials derailed in North Dakota.
