My goal this weekend is to get back on my bike - both days! It’s been FAR too long and I’m getting fat!
I'm not understanding how DNS records are "amazing innovation". I don't understand how you'd use DNS to scale verification of thousands of users. It's certainly not easier to add a DNS record than it is to add a json file to .well-known… Isn't Nostr's NIP-05 better?
This just came on Apple Music and I had to stop working… I LOVE Aretha Franklin!

Yeah!! It looks like NYC is going to be able to start using cameras on buses to fine people who block bike lanes, bus stops, truck loading zones, crosswalks and intersections. That will vastly improve our city! NYPD Traffic is completely useless at anything but directing traffic (and not even particularly good at that).
They'll probably use similar rules to how they currently fine people for bus _lane_ violations - it has to be seen more than once over a defined period of time. (Quickie violations are OK).
Where did April go?
I’d suggest getting a domain and a virtual private server and hosting them yourself.
This is why it’s important to have #diversity in your elected leaders…

Nostore felt really sketchy to me so I deleted it quickly. But I’ve seen others say promising things about it.
BU. Testing yet again (please ignore).
If you're convinced trans kids getting gender affirming care is wrong, please read this article…

Exactly how did we go from "well regulated militia" to this?
"A 20-year-old woman was shot and killed after her friend turned into the wrong driveway in upstate New York"
https://apple.news/AU_yM4TOMQkKwZe0F19914A
"'We thought we were at the right address,' Walsh told NBC. 'We didn't have any cell service to figure it out. As soon as we figured out that we were at the wrong location, we started to leave, and that's when everything happened.'"
I think we should go back to the 2nd Amendment and put more emphasis on the "well regulated" part. The 2nd Amendment was never meant to be a suicide pact!
Hate kills…
Why do Nostr clients favor .to (Tonga) TLDs? (Iris.to, hamstr.to…)
The phrase I’ve heard is “many paths, one Truth”. It’s so true.
Walked down to Central Park this afternoon. Needed to clear my mind…

"15 minute city" is a new way of describing a concept that's existed for a VERY long time. The proof of that is that most 15 minute cities were developed pre-WW2. The issue is coming to a head now because of the damage cars and car culture have done to society.
I live in Manhattan (Harlem) - I LOVE my 15 minute city. But it doesn't confine me - I can take the subway to meet friends in Brooklyn - I can take MetroNorth to go cycling in Westchester & Putnam Counties - I can take LIRR to the beach. I can take Amtrak to Montréal, Burlington VT, Boston, DC, etc.
Cars are highly destructive to society in SO many ways. Once you "see it" you can't unsee it. The problem is they're so engrained that most people never question their impact.
I'm really proud of my community for standing up to the New York Times over their coverage of #trans issues…
> About 200 New York Times contributors have signed an open letter calling out the legacy newspaper for its coverage of transgender issues.
>
> In the letter addressed to the Times' associate managing editor for standards, the contributors say they have "serious concerns about editorial bias in the newspaper's reporting on transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming people."
>
> In the letter, they say the Times has treated coverage of gender diversity "with an eerily familiar mix of pseudoscience and euphemistic, charged language," and recent reporting has omitted some sources' associations with anti-trans groups.
>
> A group of more than 130 LGBTQ advocates and organizations released a coordinated but separate statement on Wednesday accusing the Times of coverage that elevates harmful and false information about trans issues and is "damaging to the paper's credibility."
>
> Representatives from the advocacy organization GLAAD hand-delivered hard copies of that letter to the newspaper. It was also signed by celebrities including comedian Hannah Gadsby and actor Jameela Jamil.
