Building https://npub.cash 🥜 Working on awesome nostr, cashu and Lightning stuff 💜⚡️

New mint sorting algorithm for Cashu-kym 🔥 will be added in v0.4

Without this event I would not be working in Bitcoin today. Let’s make sure Octobers btc++ is just as impactful for others 🔥💜

Just wrapped up the Cashu-TS dev call and as always I’m feeling seriously bullish on Cashu. There’s plenty to be excited about, but the standout is the devs. They’re absolutely crushing it. Grateful to be building alongside such an incredible crew 🔥

cashu-kym v0.3.0 is out.

This TS library handles Cashu mint discovery and provides typed recommendations and mint statistics in a single response.

Version 0.3.0:

- Adds logging. Provide your own logging implementation or use the built in ConsoleLogger to observe what cashu-kym is doing behind the scenes.

Whenever the HTML that’s rendered in your browser contains some personal information (e.g. an email, your legal name, whatever), it would be included in the archive page and signed by you. If you are not really really careful about what the extension includes in the page, you could leak information that you don’t want to share. The same with stuff that might not even be visible to you.

Imagine a newspaper that has a profile page modal for logged in users. The modal is part of the HTML, but hidden via css until you open it. HTML scrapers would still include all the data that is part of the hidden model, without it ever being visible on the users visit

cashu-kym v0.2.1 is out.

This TS library handles Cashu mint discovery and provides typed recommendations and mint statistics in a single response.

Version 0.2.1:

- Bring your own nostr implementation: cashu-kym/pure allows you to inject your own nostr handler for reduced bundle size.

- new KYMHandler interface

- SearchResult instance for result sorting and fuzzy search.

I was allowed to witness nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc and a couple others explain MLS on nostr with lots of hand gestures and it has been one of the best things I have seen in a while. 🤙🤘🫴🤏

Make sure to checkout what they are building with WhiteNoise

Yes, that is right. What I meant that it won’t be implemented as a single thing that observes everything, but instead each app will have its own malware inside. Otherwise sandboxes could probably handle this more easily

Apps are the target. Resisting would mean being uncompliant with EU law.

Chat Control will probably not be implemented at the OS level. It targets the app developers and platforms. So even graphene will not help you, if you use apps that bake in scanning.

However it can still help you installing OSS without scanning and will sandbox scanners into their own apps

You know what you got to do anon:

So I have just tried ollama with deepseek and gpt-oss. It does work, but its super slow and maxes our the CPU super fast. I guess it's great for single questions, but I probably won't be super useful for vibing. Which is okay haha. I am fine writing some code by hand when on a plane

I have not played around with them yet. I am running a Ryzen 5 7640, so I wouldn’t expect too much from it. I’ll let you know once i tried it

Just a normal day in the life of Gemini

Told my wife that I am a proud vibe coder now. She made this for my notebook 🪿❤️

I have converted 🪿

PSA: I have just copied all usernames from npub.cash to npubx.cash! So if you want to get involved in testing, you can do so using the same username. 💜

Testing is best done through https://cashu.me (enable experimental npubx.cash in the settings).

This is not the point. Adding OTP enables apps that do not have access to your private key to still implement npub.cash's API.

Imagine you want to use cashu.me with npub.cash, but you don't have a signing extension. Instead of pasting your private key in there you could simply:

1. Add you public key to cashu.me

2. Go to your daily driver nostr app

3. Retrieve the OTP and paste it into cashu.me

4. Cashu.me is now authenticated with npub.cash without ever signing anything, nor accessing the keys

nostr:npub1mhcr4j594hsrnen594d7700n2t03n8gdx83zhxzculk6sh9nhwlq7uc226 I thought I would take it one step further. now there is a vite plugin to let the app access the list of dependencies looking for funding

https://www.npmjs.com/package/vite-plugin-funding

if you add "fundingPlugin({ types: ["lightning"] })" to your vite plugins it will expose a "virtual:funding" module in the app that has a directory of all packages with the "lightning" funding type

nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzph0s8t9gtt0q88n8gt2mau7lx5klrxws6v0z9wv93eld4pwt8wa7qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3qamnwvaz7tm99ehx7uewd3hkctcqyqx4a85rtq3npmmlk5zz9sdf2dlqy7w98qk9j3djck65r5m6vrzl5hg7tnm

Seems like “npm fund” only picks up projects with http urls in the funding field… maybe I’ll need to parse the tree on my own in the end

Alright, couple of fixes later the nutjar.js demo page is deployed: https://nutjar.netlify.app/

Nutjar.js is a library that wraps cashu and nostr in order to enable anyone to receive Lightning tips on the interwebs, without ANY setup or registration. Permissionless and censorship resistant.

The demo's code can be found on GitHub, but here is the core piece of code:
