I see it as working! Snort client
Hard to find tho, heres the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitorpamplona.amethyst
For next steps look at:
- Vanity npub (
- NIP05 (got a domain?)
- Propper key control (nos2x extension)
Just diving in deeply he? Welcome!
Hey! Seems you did not setup your NIP05 propperly. My guess is you put it in your Name field now. Try adding it to the special NIP-05 field in your profile!
Oh nice! Problem is I want to convert hex -> npub of accounts that arent mine, just their public info.
Alright, tags seem to change the last part of the npub, but cant get a matching npub yet with the tags i tried. Must be somewhere, i'll look!
Thanks, but cant get it to work either. It does seem to do a good job but the length does not match..
I can add a 'tag' to get it working but not sure what tag to use.
Thanks, but i want it to convert from hex to npub.
And noticed you have your lightning adress wrong:
remove the "lightning:", so just kodo@getalby.com
Yeah! Just added you.
Use kodo@Nostr-Check.com in the nip05 field to get your free verification working!
Cant get this to work, bummer. Someone posted another solution tho!
Thanks for the link! Love this #[4] 💟
Tip of the day:
#[0] made a really nice substack titled *Why Nostr*, check it out here:
Most fun to make your own!
If not you can look for the ones who got fancy colors on some clients, the ones you just like as name, or (my favourite) the ones who ask for sats and use them to distribute to devs.
I made my own and can hand you one, if you like, for free.
Damus key converter is great to convert npub into Hex. You can even save the page and run it locally (more privacy).
But does anyone know how you can convert back from Hex to npub? This tool does not seem to do that.
If you want to add more, dont forget the comma at the end! See mine for example: www.nostr-check.com/.well-known/nostr.json
Thanks! It's a great learning process for me so we both benefiting 😄
To know if someone is really that account you should check the npub, but that is really long and hard to read.
NIP-05 Verified simplifies that; NIP-05 makes the npub more 'readable'. You can quickly scan if it is really that person. Because the verification is linked to that npub only others cant use it.
Not the most secure way, you can fake a domain (like using the l for I) and need to trust the provider they cant get injected by attackers.
Mostly it's just great fun and a cool way to identify yourself with others or show your support! (Some providers ask for sats and use that sats to fund devs, love that!)
