Everyone seems so willing to whore themselves out to AI as quickly as possible. That is not a winning pitch for me. It’s a dealbreaker. I realize it’s an overly broad, stupid term, but machine learning sounded better before they were trying to get it to make bad art and write shitty prose.

I do wonder if there will ever be a reemergence of new brand of Luddites who refuse to go along with AI-fueled tech. I definitely feel like I’m on the short side of the debate. Even Apple is going all in. It’s not good.
All I see is the potential for mediocrity. The biggest threat to being great isn’t bad, it’s being very good. If AI can achieve very good, but not great, many will settle for very good and never achieve greatness.

In the state of New Jersey it is illegal to possess brass knuckles and slingshots. But with a background check and a clear record, you can buy a handgun, shotgun, or rifle.
No slingshots, though. Because they’re too dangerous.
Being a tank operator seems like a risky proposition. They’re always on fire. Every time you see one. They seem particularly vulnerable from attack, from above. A cheap drone with a bit of explosive taped to it and that’s all she wrote.

Oddly, the YouTube app doesn’t have a mute button. That seems so strange to me. It’s one the best reasons to watch a baseball game on television, because I can mute the commercials and when they bring visitors in to talk to the announcers. #MLB

I find it ludicrous that Israel’s ultra-orthodox should be exempt from mandatory military service, and then I remember I don’t give a shit. We need to stop giving Israel aid of any kind, certainly not bombs and bullets. It’s an oppressive, authoritarian regime, placing little value on human life. They are not deserving of my money.
