Getting to know very talented artists is one thing and definitely an enriching experience that I am very grateful for. However, far and away the most important thing is the quality of their work. I am a very objects-oriented person and what really matters to me is high quality work. I am looking for legitimate masterpieces of art that can stand the test of time.
I have sun FOMO now 🤣
This illustration is very powerful for me, because I usually feel like the guy at the bottom who has no clue what a little more perseverance can achieve. My researches into the art world often feel fruitless. I have nearly given up many times. I have returned to the search many times. I also know that there are billions of people out there, and so the right connections are at least possible and worth seeking out, and that not trying is the worst thing one could do. You could say, That's impossible! And then stop trying. But I have faith that what I'm looking for isn't impossible, and that the only way to find out is to try.

I love that the comments/notes are front and center on #[0]! That was definitely the main thing I wanted to see.

Here is an explainer for why you should be listening to Band-Maid, if you haven’t started yet:
The one time I was in Rome, on the last day I walked for miles to get to the Galleria Borghese (the place I wanted to see the most) only to be denied entry because there were too many people. I remember being heartbroken by this, but in retrospect it probably contributed to turning me into an art collector with a huge chip on my shoulder 😂
One of my favorite low time preference companies is Saddleback Leather Co. I’ve been using some of their stuff for over a decade now:

Woohoo! I got to say thank you to a musician that really had an impact on me a long time ago:

This is one of my pinned posts on Instagram. It’s basically my mission statement:
I want to spend the rest of my life ensuring that the greatest artists are given a chance to show the world what they can really do. Far too many artists have their hands tied behind their backs because their greatest works are absolutely terrifying in ambition. They’re too bold, they’re too expensive, they’re too risky, for the average patron. So the right patron really has to be crazy enough to meet the artist at this high level where you look at their work and you say, “Who could have possibly asked the artist to make this? Who would be crazy enough to pay for such a thing?” And I want to be that crazy guy, for artists all over the world, because that’s how I believe the greatest works get created, when there’s this extraordinary meeting between the greatest talent and the craziest patron.
Yeah last night I was zapping like crazy and somehow it was working better/faster than ever
