OpenSecret is the Confidential Backend for your app. Enable user-level encryption by default to protect your users and yourself. Check out the first app, Maple AI - Confidential AI Chat: https://trymaple.ai

The metadata like payment history. You can do a full backup by going into the emergency toolkit to backup complete state and then import the file into safari.

A foolish and malicious cop out by Apple.

What this means for Mutiny users? If you've installed as a PWA, the data is segregated. With the new update, Apple will bounce you to safari, which still works. However, it'll be at a blank slate.

Be sure to back up your seed phrase!

Hey mutiny team! Looks like this version is having startup issues for me. Looking at the logs it looks like an issue with my configured federation, but I can't remove the federation until the wallet initializes... I have nearly endless lines of the following at the bottom of my log:

```
Mutiny v0.5.9 is rolling out now:
- Updated LDK & BDK (will resync on chain funds, give it a minute or two)
- Startup speed optimizations
- Language switcher in settings (Thanks npub1ez8efu9rjxu64g0lalty2ffmr2tgkzjz92rkafyfyz5463wr8ars8zls5t )
Hello Nostrians!
Check out the latest piece for Bitcoin Magazine Shinobi about Nostr Wallet Connect potential for sparking a Cambrian explosion of bitcoin apps #nwc
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/technical/nostr-wallet-connect-a-bitcoin-application-collaboration-layer
Some best quotes below 👇
"Standardized mechanism needs to exist for all of different tools to talk to each other. This would allow each application and Lightning wallet developer, to all simply integrate one single protocol that would enable their applications to communicate with each other."
"Nostr Wallet Connect is a protocol making the attempt at being a truly generalized mechanism for fulfilling this need."
"It's based on Nostr’s identity architecture where every event is signed by a cryptographic keypair. This allows an application to generate a Nostr keypair, and from that alone have a cryptographic authentication mechanism to use with an external Bitcoin wallet"
"All of this is coordinated over Nostr, allowing for a very redundant means of communication not dependent on a single centralized messaging mechanism to facilitate the network connection between an application and wallet software or infrastructure running on their home network."
"NWC is useful for far more than simply integrating Lightning into Nostr applications. The entire design philosophy of Nostr itself was centered around keeping it simple enough that the entire protocol could be easily implemented correctly by any developer with minimal time."
"Nostr is the perfect underlying protocol to facilitate that given its incredible simplicity and the redundancy of a large set of relays to utilize. NWC is the perfect example of that being a viable solution. "
The beauty of NWC as a wallet protocol is the fact that it can work with self custodial mobile wallets that are not always online. Relays retain the encrypted communication messages until the user opens Mutiny the next time.
It doesn't matter what type of lightning wallet you have, the open protocol nature of it should support any.
Otherwise just use the PWA in safari.
Mutiny version 0.5.8 going out now. This includes additional fedimint features and fixes, including a "Swap to LN" feature that moves your federation esats to a self-custodial LN channel.
There have been some breaking changes to fedimint integrations over the last few releases.
It's recommended that you remove the previous federation if you're having issues sending and add a DIFFERENT federation for testing. Do not add the same one back.
Thank you all for testing, there should be less of these breaking changes now that we're improving these bugs.
😍❤️
hey nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg in some tests I'm making (sending to Wallet of Satoshi and also sending to a Lightning Address with BTCPayServer) the LNURL Comment is not arriving. Is this expected?
Unsure. If you can expand upon this on our GitHub (link in bio), our team can take a look.
It takes a long time and there's no loading indication currently.
Announcing Superposition and Note Duel, our first two DLC experiments
https://blog.mutinywallet.com/note-duel-superposition/
We've released Mutiny version v0.5.7 which includes two notable changes.
Payjoin v1 support has been added. Huge credit to nostr:npub1yevrvtp3xl42sq06usztudhleq8pdfsugw5frgaqg6lvfdewfx9q6zqrkl over the last few months, for the improvements to the PDK library and getting it included into Mutiny! Thanks to Ben Allen too for testing.
We're really excited about the privacy gains here and for future improvements such as Payjoin v2. This should allow asynchronous payjoins, making it possible for a mobile user to payjoin with another mobile user.
We've also made some underlying changes to how NWC works in Mutiny. We've switched over all new connections to use our new strfry based relay instead of using the Blastr. This should greatly improve performance and speed, in addition to being able to better support consumer apps.
You may continue using your existing NWC connections, but for better reliability, you can delete existing wallet connections to recreate them on the new relay.
In the coming months, we should have a load of new nostr related features as well. Stay tuned!
According to our relay, almost 100k Nostr Wallet Connect events have been sent through Mutiny!
nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg What happens if I restore my mobile Mutiny wallet to a desktop instance? Does it mess up either one? Thanks
It works but not recommended unless you're careful about not running both at the same time.
No metadata is remotely backed up but balances are.
