Matt and Mercedes Schlapp joined Vox Spain and world leaders in Madrid, Spain for Europa Viva 24. They delivered empowering remarks on the rise of the conservative movement in America and Europe.
“In America, vamos a ganar! In America we are going to win because Donald Trump is going to be our president again!” declared Matt Schlapp.
America is heading toward a revival, and it is all leading up to November of this year, when Schlapp predicts that Americans will vote President Trump back into office. He observes that Americans are tired of the lies the Left has told them about their children, their family, and their faith, and they are now rising up against those lies to restore truth and freedom to their country.
And the revival is not just in America. Like Americans are tired of the incompetency of President Biden, the people of Spain are tired of the weak leadership of PM Pedro Sanchez, and all across Europe, people are growing tired of the bureaucracy and globalism of the European Union.
Mercedes Schlapp had an empowering message for European and American conservatives and conservatives worldwide:
“You can’t be fearful. You have to stand up. You cannot bend. You have to fight because right now they want to destroy our civilization. They want to destroy our religion.”

Gilbert and Aileen Chuck knew full well the death and destruction that stems from communism. During the Second World War, Aileen fled her home country of China to seek refuge in Hawaii. It was there that she met her husband, Gilbert, a doctor in the Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor. After the war, the Chucks moved to California to live out the American dream. Even in their passing, the Chucks wanted to make sure that their legacy of fighting communism was carried on. That is why CPAC is thrilled to announce the Gilbert and Aileen Chuck Fellowship for Law and Liberty.
The fellowship is designed to instill in law students those values in America’s founding documents that have made this country the greatest engine of human flourishing in history.

The United States boasts the best legal system in the world – one that is characterized by the rule of law and the presumption of innocence. These fundamentals, however, are under attack as some seek to weaponize the justice system for political gain. Chuck fellows will learn about the American justice system by engaging in criminal justice advocacy at the state and federal level.

The federal government’s unmitigated expansion over the past century is, perhaps, most clearly seen in the growth of the administrative state. This leviathan has grown to a level unimaginable to the founders, and CPAC is working to whittle it down to size one regulation at a time. The current Administration is using a “whole of government approach” to push its radically progressive agenda of unfettered abortion access, forced DEI, greatly restricted property rights, and economically catastrophic environmental policy utilizing every agency. Chuck Fellows will work with the CPAC Center for Regulatory Freedom to comment on these disastrous regulations during the notice and comment period.
“Political scientists, editorial page writers, and cynics often depict judges as doing nothing other than writing their preferences into law. CPAC often has the opportunity to engage directly with the court system through amici. As CPAC continues to engage on important cases at the state and federal level, Chuck Fellows will have the opportunity to provide input on amici that we submit. As fellows engage in the litigation process, they will gain the ability to write persuasively and, perhaps more importantly, learn how to write the most persuasive argument for the judge assigned.

Finally, Chuck Fellows will benefit from the institutional knowledge of the nation’s oldest grassroots advocacy organization. CPAC, founded over fifty years ago by William F. Buckley Jr. as the American Conservative Union has defined conservatism for decades. CPAC defines conservatism as the belief that the greatest level of sovereignty resides in the individual. This definition informs every this we do. Fellows will work one-on-one with leaders in the conservative movement and will grow intellectually in a stimulating office environment. Not only will Chuck Fellows have the tools to be better lawyers, but better conservatives as well.
The conservative movement is in great need of more principled conservative lawyers who understand what makes America great. CPAC is looking for hardworking and intelligent law students who are willing to answer that call.

CPAC joined forces with Vox in Madrid, Spain for Europa Viva 24 in Madrid. Matt and Mercedes Schlapp represented CPAC at the event that also featured remarks from friends of CPAC, Santiago Abascal, President of Vox, and Eduardo Verastegui and world leaders, Javier Milei, Giorgia Meloni, and Viktor Orbán.Israel and the European Union were hot topics at the conference.
The speakers and attendees vocalized strong support for Israel in contrast to the Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez’s recent remarks planning to recognize a Palestinian state and President Biden’s comments calling for a ceasefire and a two-state solution in his commencement speech at Morehouse College.
Matt Schlapp commented on the issue in his remarks at Europa Viva 24, “It’s shameful that in the United States of America, this wonderful country, it is shameful that the Democratic party and the Left have embraced Hamas over Israel. It's shameful.”
European conservatives enthusiastically showed out for the event with attendance totaling nearly 11,000. The 2024 European Union parliament elections are coming up in June, and Europa Viva 24 was a rallying point for European conservatives to seize the opportunity to fight back against the globalism and bureaucracy in Brussels.

It’s obvious that Americans have lost in trust in the news media.
A Pew Research Center study released in April of this year revealed that the majority of Republicans firmly believe mainstream media reporting is heavily influenced by outside forces and that freedom of the press has disintegrated. The major downsizing and dire financial straits of many well-known outlets, such as the Los Angeles Times and CNN, indicates that traditional news outlets and legacy media establishments may be paying for their lazy reporting.
The American people want straightforward and reliable news reporting, which they’re not getting from legacy outlets. They simply want a journalist to do their job and report the facts, not spew political propaganda. The American people deserve to know the truth. They deserve to know what’s going on in their country and be allowed to form their own opinions.
Legacy media has long treated the average American reader with a superiority complex that views the average American as a child, too dumb to think for himself and needing someone far more intellectually advanced to interpret current events for them. Radical Left-wing activists under the guise of reporters believed themselves to be that person, qualified to teach the public the real ways of the world through a Marxist lens.
Today, they are suffering from their own stupidity as Americans are seeing them for who they are, leaving them in the dust, and chasing the freedom and truth the American people have sought all along in alternative outlets and newer forms of media.
America was not founded to be a nation of brainwashed robots. That would be contrary to freedom. The Founding Fathers added provisions for free speech and freedom of the press for that very reason.
Americans see this, and they’re tired of fake news. They want to know what’s really going on in their schools, in their government, at the border, what their tax money is funding, and what their politicians are doing. They’re tired of having their viewpoints silenced and mocked by mainstream media.
As the old empires of legacy media outlets crumble, let’s replace them with the trustworthy news sources the American people want. 
We are living through the worst presidency in history.

West Virginia businessman Chris Miller called out the corruption and inefficiencies of the federal government.
“We need to run government more like a business that treats taxpayers like valued customers and shareholders,” suggested Miller.
The American people need to hold the government accountable and ensure that their freedoms are being protected and their taxes are being invested wisely and effectively. Rich in natural resources including coal and water and full of hard working, family-oriented, common sense, and patriotic people, West Virginia is poised to lead the nation in reform. As the Left shifts further and further Left, they are disowning anyone who does not fall in line on every issue, especially pro-life Democrats. Terrisa Bukovinac, anti-abortion activist and 2024 Democratic Presidential Candidate, is one of those Democrats. She explains her position and experience as a pro-life Democrat on this episode of Battle Belongs.
Bukovinac was moved to join the pro-life movement after learning about the secular pro-life movement and the horrific process of abortions, including the dismembering of the baby. She was motivated to become active in the movement in the 2016 election when she realized that President Trump’s pro-life message wasn’t able to reach pro-life groups on the Left. After being fed up with not finding representation for herself and other pro-life Democrats, she decided to be that representation herself, and she founded Pro-Life San Francisco. That same lack of representation prompted her to run as a Democrat candidate for president in 2024.
Bukovinac’s work in the pro-life movement includes recovering the bodies of aborted children, raising awareness of the horrors and violence of abortion, and debating those willing to on this important issue. She has met fierce resistance from the Left, however, with Democrat leaders and elected officials unwilling to have conversations about abortion and pro-abortion groups launching campaigns to silence pro-life Democrats like Bukovinac.
“The Democratic establishment will do anything, in my opinion, to silence pro-life Democrats. That’s a big problem for them, and you can see they primary any candidates aggressively who espouse any kind of concern about even late term abortion,” observed Bukovinac.
She is striving to change the Democrat Party with her campaign to make the party more open and welcoming to pro-life Democrats.
“We are Democrats. We do not agree with Republican policies but we will not be complicit in child killing. That is the message. That is what I’m trying to do. I’m trying to raise up these pro-life Democrats to give them the courage to say who are they, to stop being silenced, to stop being afraid,” explained Bukovinac.

There’s no question that human trafficking of the most vulnerable among us remains a prevalent threat to communities across this country, with over 3,000 potential child victims reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline in 2021 alone. Even with such staggering evidence, we know many cases of child labor or sex abuse go unreported, leaving kids of all ages at risk of constant harm. Lawmakers must act quickly to ensure our Nation meets its lofty goals of ensuring liberty and freedom for our next generation.
Thankfully, CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking is not alone in this fight as government leaders step up to protect our most important asset: our young people. Recently, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) outlined critical recommendations for combating human trafficking, particularly of children under 18. These included improved collaboration between the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and the Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) and the establishment of clear goals to assist the specific needs of child trafficking victims. Despite these clear objectives, the current administration has failed to act. President Biden's policy of lax border enforcement creates opportunities for traffickers to exploit vulnerable individuals, including children on both sides of the border. At the same time, Federal agencies continue to come up short in supporting their State and local partners who encounter and often rescue these at-risk children.
This is why CPAC was proud to join Senator Grassley in advancing new legislation that would mandate the Federal government prioritize protecting our country’s young men and women. The "Preventing Child Trafficking Act of 2024" is a straightforward proposal that requires the executive branch to implement the recommendations from the GAO report in the immediate future. Through prioritizing funding for victims’ services, placing more time and attention on the needs of at-risk youth, and ensuring that Federal agencies are coordinating with those working on the ground, this transformative legislation takes significant steps in protecting our most vulnerable. Now is the time for our government to take the lead in ending child trafficking, and CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking stands ready to make real change in the fight to end modern day slavery.

Katie Pavlich and Florida Congresswoman Kat Cammack sit down for a discussion of government overreach at CPAC 2024.
For a year now, Cammack has belonged to the Subcommittee for the Weaponization of the Federal Government in the House of Representatives. In this capacity, she’s learned the depth and extent of the weaponization of the federal government against the American people. In particular, the federal government’s collusion with big tech to harness the technology of AI to censor Americans and promote DEI has recently come to light. In fact, taxpayer funds have been funneled to academia for the purpose of manipulating AI to advance Leftist ideology.
The Subcommittee for the Weaponization of the Federal Government is tasked with uncovering and cracking down on these sketchy partnerships. Their latest effort to do so is a fencing bill.
“If we can’t cut their money, we’re going to fence it. And people are like, ‘Well, what would that do?’ Well, you start in different departments and you hold their money hostage. Two can play this game, and I am so sick and tired, and I know you guys are too, of sitting on the sidelines and watching these people run roughshod over our rights with our money,” explained Cammack.
Cammack and her Republican colleagues are shouldering the burden of fighting the weaponization of government as their Democrat counterparts continue to deny its reality and focus on destroying Donald Trump.
