I think you're right for the people who actually learn enough to get involved.
A shitcoiner who puts in the effort to learn basic key management will likely see the light and use better protocols.
But the no-coiners whose only exposure to "crypto" has been negative headlines for 10 years will continue to dismiss everything, even if its rational and solves their problem elegantly.
I'm crossing my fingers that nostr can be a better introduction for that cohort.
I worry "crypto" will follow the same fate as nuclear.
Clearly the answer, but people are introduced with scams and other shitty first impressions that can take decades to rebrand.
What kind of engagement are you looking for?
You check instagram for likes
I check slush pool for sats
We are not the same
Verifying ones identity, content, and services across the web
Is there an old style yik yak client on #nostr? Some client that fetched notes within certain geohashes?

Everyone plays by the same rules, and the rules are designed to benefit us as individuals equally.
If I hoard bitcoin I get wealthier, but it also reduces the supply, so everyone’s bitcoin becomes more scarce and value goes up.
If i share information over nostr, it not only gives me giant uncensorable reach, but also makes every other user and app developer’s experience better.
Win and help win
The thing that makes #bitcoin and #nostr great is you get to be selfish and selfless at the same time
This is the way
Welcome! Glad you made the leap 🤙

You can audit how ‘private’ it is yourself since it’s open source.
