let’s distinguish “intellectuals” from “thought leaders.”
intellectuals write & research their own books. actual BOOKS. worth reading, chock full of information, clever theories & fresh conclusions.
thought leaders — not all — are often hired to disseminate foregone conclusions i.e. “thoughts.” static interpretations, stale opinions, little to no wit, likely no humor, thoughts lack depth, no true expertise. “books” exist solely as an excuse to position the “thought leadership” asset as an “expert” for podcasts, memes, posts & other dissemination vehicles. the “book” is in fact a mere prop for the “thought” actor.
care to list any intellectuals vs. thought leaders? and by whom the latter are hired and for what purpose?
so it is still there & we can get it back, then, by decree. or perhaps they moved it?

if memes were saviours of ideas we’d see an overall decrease of inanity over the past decade. that “viral” is now socially coded as a positive should be a tip off indicating an inverse of actual value. i’ll leave virality for the infected & unwell while i go galactic. 😉 ✨
