In my opinion, one of the appeals as to why enthusiast consumers are buying more older vs new cars is because back then the automotive industry dared to be different they took chances to gain market share. Whereas today, everyone follows everyone, to "play it safe".
That is why when people say older cars have more "soul", they're right, because they do. Those vehicles we all remember fondly were produced by people from a different cloth than those that inhabit the offices of automakers today. Those vehicles were made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
