I am reading The Sovereign Individual again. Has anyone else been reading it? Some truth bombs that stand out:
1. Is anarchy the world order already? There is no global power, only competing states and interests and the logic of violence.
2. Politics is downstream of technology, mass democracy is a product of mass production, along with mass media
3. Voting is a proxy for military violence
4. What is it that makes people believe in the legitimacy of democratic institutions? No other organisation or business is run this way, when you understand the logic of violence in the industrial age it becomes clear.

It seems we went from "new innovations in digital money are being tentatively explored by a small team..." to "TIME TO GET READY FOR THE CBDC NEW ZEALAND: ITS COMING" in a period of about 6 months.
It's not looking good for privacy and human rights. Interestingly it looks like they already have an internal project titled "Digital Cash Campaign" designed to push this narrative out there:
